Mercury Retrograde Ends Soon Mercury's three week retrograde, familiar to everyone, will end just after midnight Tuesday, August 7. While this hasn't been a tough Merc retro, like the last one in Pisces this past winter -- it has brought the usual communications mix ups and heightened nervous system sensitivities. As stated many times before, without confirming planetary karmas, Mercury retrograde issues tend to be just annoyances. Vedic Astrologers call this need for repetition of karmas to signal events, confluence. Although not highlighted in the press, the best of these was praising Israel's government dominated health care, Romney praises health care in Israel, where research says ‘strong government influence’ has driven down costs. Romney's gaffes result from Mercury retrograding over restrictive Saturn, which brings deception, even self deception. This influence will continue, for after transit Mercury goes forward August 8, it crosses Saturn again. July 30 Heads-up On Monday, July 30, I sent a Heads-up, Strife Tuesday Morning. (Note: this, like other emailed Heads-up, has been posted on the VedicLeaks monthly page, in this case, July, and labeled July 30.) However, it did appear I still hit the target for doom, as shown in this Wednesday evening breaking Washington Post article, Two planes taking off from National came dangerously close to plane trying to land. But, during Mercury retrograde, appearances can be deceiving. The newspaper report was wrong! In, Close call for three jets over Washington airport, officials clarified, LaHood and Huerta rejected any suggestion that any of the aircraft had been on a collision course. "They were on different headings at different altitudes," so they would not have collided, Huerta said. Further, Mercury retrograde caused the problem, Three U.S. Airways flights came too close to one another this week over Washington's Reagan National Airport because of "miscommunication" between the control tower and a regional hub. The other Tuesday event was, India power cut hits millions, among world's worst outages. Two thirds of the country was blacked out, affecting 630 million people. This failure followed a smaller blackout on Monday, India blackout leaves 300 million without power. This certainly is a huge event, and I quipped to a Subscriber in India, Well at least you weren't in the dark about a Tuesday catastrophe.
There are four interesting results from this event. First, Monday's first blackout occurred Monday at 2:35 AM India time, at which time Mars (machinery) was also aspecting the Moon (home.) The aspect was wide (20 degrees), however -- so not at full potency. Second, Tuesday's huge power grids failures happened at 1:02 PM, at which time the Mars to Moon aspect was very close, just 4 degrees from exact, and thereby near maximum power. The prediction timing was nearly perfect. Third, major events like this can prove-out whether a nation chart is correct -- in this case the India Independence chart, August 15, 1947, 00:00 AM, Delhi. (As with many nations, there are several other possible birth dates/times for India.) Beyond the Mars to Moon aspect in the eighth of calamity in this chart, the transits of the Sun and Mercury were bad then. Most importantly, that chart's Dasas (planetary cycles) had changed on July 16 from fairly good Sun/Jupiter to difficult Sun/Saturn. That too fits with the power outage. Also, given just this Dasa change, one can predict India's growth will continue to slow. Fourth, The Celestial Wheel has emphasized a basic truth of emerging economies, notably and especially China and India. These are indigenous cultures, bound by ancient traditions and cultural stratification. Yes, these countries can do a few things well -- like China's labor intensive manufacturing and English-language India in call centers and related technologies. But China and India lack the broad range of governmental and private systems and cultural values needed for a complex modern advanced capitalist system. Infrastructure is a major item, spotlighted in this power blackout. Saturn leaving Virgo One great positive is that restrictive Saturn, the planet of misfortune and death, will finally leave Virgo, the sign of illness, strife and discord tonight. Mars/Saturn Hitting Individual Charts It's pretty obvious that if the Mars/Saturn conjunction at 00:47 degrees Libra (2/3 of one degree into Libra) is close to a planet in your birth chart, it will hit your chart hard. I quickly checked Romney's Vedic chart to see that his transit Mercury would pass by Saturn on Tuesday, which begins clearing Saturn's blocking effect that has caused the above problems. Mercury in Romney's chart is a double significator of communications, and it also denotes kingship -- and thereby his capability to win the presidential election. It seemed that Romney's upcoming bus tour on Tuesday could restore his reputation and popularity. Yet, I had a nagging feeling Romney could do further harm to himself with a major Mercury/Saturn gaffe before then.
Note about Sarah Palin. Palin finished her dynamic 16 year Jupiter cycle June 8, shifting into a hard-fighting but crude and low class 19 year Saturn cycle. As always, there's mystery to how karma actualizes. And, although Ryan as VP pick was not anticipated, the Mercury/Saturn deception and self deception was. Too, Romney's tax return issue remains a ticking bomb, and he can't diffuse it. I've emphasized many times it takes more than one planetary karma to bring an event or trend. In this case, Romney remains haunted by the eclipse and blinded mentally by Mercury/Saturn. He also has Ketu (the dissolving tail-of-the-dragon eclipse point) right on his Ascendant, which represents the self. And the transit Moon is there today, making him irrational.
Mars/Saturn Influence? One may wonder, is the approaching destructive Mars/Saturn conjunction is influencing as well? In the above August 10 entry, I displayed two charts -- the first with was August 4, which showed Mars in Virgo and Saturn in Libra. In the second, Mars and Saturn conjoined in Libra August 15. As of this morning, Mars is still in Virgo, although just barely at 28 degrees and 20 minutes in this 30 degree wide sign -- and only 2 degrees from Saturn in Libra at 00:30 degrees. Vedic Astrologers are of two minds as to whether the sign borders are hard or soft separators. Generally, they are hard separators -- a planet remains influences only on the sign where it is placed, until it moves into the next sign. However, in a situation in like this, in which Mars is getting ready to leave Virgo and is within 2 degrees of Saturn in Libra, the sign border is soft -- permeable. This leaking barrier between signs results when the two planets involved are powerful, malefics and arch enemies -- as Mars and Saturn are. For Romney, this energetic leakage is particularly difficult because Libra is is sixth house of enemies and competitors. Picking Ryan as VP stimulates his enemies and gives them ammunition. We can conclude Romney's picking Ryan is more unfortunate that initially appears. Mars/Saturn makes it truly destructive.
Romney's Troubles Are Not Over There's another great harm for Romney lurking. Rahu (the head-of-the-dragon point) is in secretive and deadly Scorpio, where Romney's fallen Moon is precariously placed. Rahu is approaching the Moon. He gets very close to the Moon in early September -- and then, Rahu sits right on the Moon (motionless) for the rest of that month. Rahu on the Moon will make Romney even more out of touch with society and stimulate great fears and uncertainties. He will not be able to either effectively attack, or defend. Any debates then will be a hoot. Scorpio will also unveil Romneys secrets, like his tax returns showing very low percentages paid in taxes -- giving credence to my thought -- Romney Is A One Man Goldman Sachs. This is not to say that Obama will have an easy time winning the election. He has challenges too, but they are minor compared with Romney's -- like stubbing a toe or breaking an ankle. The former is an ouch. the latter knocks the runner out of the race.

Tropical Storms Update Tropical Storm Isaac is on everyone's radar because it threatens to resume destructive Atlantic hurricane activity, especially in Florida, which has not experienced a major hurricane since the back to back deadly seasons of 2004 and 2005. Of course, too, The Republican National Convention starting Monday in Tampa is at risk. Whether Donald Trump's hair gets drenched is of no interest, however. This large. but not yet well organized. storm remains a tropical storm and is headed for the Gulf of Mexico. Certainly offshore oil platforms and pipelines could be damaged. The U.S. chart is not particularly harmed right now -- but it will be starting in early September. This suggests more hurricanes in September through early October will further harm gas and oil production. Of course, the negative Ketu karma can actualize in more than one way, and probably will. There's the hot water on Israel's stove that increasingly threatens to boil over in an attack on Iran. As the The Economy & Oil stated, The conclusion here is that Israel will attack Iran in late summer, causing a major spike in oil prices that will turn the nascent economic recovery into a rout.
Tropical Storm Isaac Toward New Orleans Isaac did, of course, pass by Florida bringing only high winds and rain. Here in Venice, south of Tampa, it's really blustery but little rain. The media is making waves comparing Isaac to Katrina. They relate the two for nearly identical tracks and also hitting at the end of August. Katrina made landfall in New Orleans August 29, 2005. Well, if a bully attacks you at the same place and on the same calender date years after an attack, that's coincidence. It certainly doesn't tell you anything about how this 2012 bully compares with 2005 one. Praying Away The Storm It actually makes a lot more sense to believe that the Evangelical Christians prayed away the storm from the Tampa convention location. Whoa! Looks like they did it!, Christians Successfully Pray The Hurricane Away From Tampa Convention, Folks in Louisiana and Mississippi have Pastor Jesten Peters and her followers to thank for sending Tropical Storm Isaac in their direction. Isaac had threatened to disrupt the Republican National Convention in Tampa this week, but Pastor Peters stepped in... It seems, though, that messing with mother nature wasn't such a great idea -- since tropical storm Isaac hitting Tampa is minor compared with hurricane Isaac striking New Orleans. Well, it's also true that God works in mysterious ways. Now Mitt Romney is certainly happy about this, since as a Mormon, he's getting a free ride on Evangelical Christians. "This is wonderful, said Mitt. It's like a new tax shelter without expensive lobbying!" Now, here comes another group, praying Isaac away from New Orleans! -- Tropical Storm Isaac Evacuations Move Celebrities to Call for Prayer. We all known that prayers by celebrities are worth more than prayers by simple folk -- because it's the praying that made them celebrities, right? This supercharged celebrities praying should really work! Where will they pray Isaac to, pray tell? There's only one place for Isaac to go, Mexico. The above August 24 prediction for tropical storm Isaac is not swayed by either the media hype, nor the religious cults. There is fine-tuning though. I stated, The U.S. chart is not particularly harmed right now -- but it will be starting in early September. This suggests more hurricanes in September through early October will further harm gas and oil production. More specifically, the U.S. chart's Dasas (planetary cycles) change to Mars/Mercury/Venus/Mars August 30, not early September. It's the double destructive Mars that will cause problems. That is Thursday, after Isaac makes landfall. It suggests Isaac will cause more flooding harms after it hits land on Wednesday. Also, Mars/Mercury/Venus/Mars last only three days, until September 2. Then, the Dasas change to Mars/Mercury/Venus/Rahu. Rahu is even more destructive in the U.S. chart. This sequence continues until September 11. Look for upcoming tropical storms to form and hit the U.S. then. Of course, with their great successes in praying away Isaac, the Evangelical Christians will not doubt be in full pious force to push away any such incoming hurricanes. I have a two-part question here. Does anyone feel sorry for the Mexicans? Aren't Mexican Christians too? The bottom line is there are a lot stresses, losses and consequent craziness in the world now due to the Mars/Saturn conjunction. But still, just in case some of this praying stuff actually works, don't go to Mexico!
