Moon With Jupiter

The November  27 Jupiter Forward offered encouragement for Jupiter, the great benefic ending, a weak retrograde and entering his strong forward motion,

This softens the blows from challenging world events -- and issues in your individual Vedic chart as well.  So, it's good news.  Too, Jupiter's quality of optimism, which includes associated confidence, wisdom, expansion, benevolence, philanthropy... lifts us up from the depressing swamp of the Trump cult and its poisonous influence upon society in general.

The entry closed with, So, take advantage of opportunity for gain and then use those benefits to secure yourself from inevitable disruptions as the Gilded Age racists battle progressive elements in society.

This evening, the Moon, Vedic Astrology's primary planet and which signifies the benefits in life, conjoins Jupiter in mystical Pisces.  Jupiter's expansion empowers the Moon.  This combination signals solutions to problems and also diplomacy for a cause.  So take advantage of this favorable planetary karma.

EarthSky.org  included this drawing in its article about this beautiful celestial event,

And here's the Vedic chart for today.  Jupiter aspects (glances upon) Cancer, it's exalted sign, where it does best.  Jupiter also aspects Venus, the planet of love, females and vehicles.  And tomorrow, Friday, is Venus's day of the week.

As the Moon is also females, there's excellent karma for females, and also Venus's vehicles.  These areas, along with others, like wealth, prosper now.

Another Celestial Delight

The (above) December 1 Moon With Jupiter described the beautiful alignment of these two bright and benefic planets in Pisces.  On December 1, the Moon and Jupiter appeared to be in the same spot as viewed from earth because they were at the same longitude.  And that's what the astrology showed, which craft measures longitude -- east to west.

Upcoming, late in the evening on December 7, 2022, the heavens will offer another striking conjunction -- this between the full Moon and bright Mars in Taurus.  Most potent will be when the Moon occults (crosses over and hides) Mars.

Occultation occurs when two planets are at the same longitude (the north/south lines that measure east to west) and latitude (the east/west lines that measure north to south).  (Using both longitude and latitude gives an objects their coordinates.)

Astrology measures only longitude to display where planets are in the signs -- that run east to west.  It is most unusual when planets are also at the same latitude (measuring north to south), which places them in the same celestial spot -- identical coordinates.

Using both longitude and latitude is like locating a target with a spotting scope by moving the scope left and right plus up and down to put the target in the cross hairs.  (When you're in someone's cross hairs, they are focused exactly upon you.)

The Vedic chart below for December 7 shows the Moon and Mars in the same longitude -- east to west position.  The chart doesn't show they will also be at the same latitude -- north to south position,.  We get latitude measurements from astronomers.

Martian Eclipse

December 7, 2022  21:56 Taurus

Astrologically, with this Moon being full in her exalted sign of Taurus, and Mars brightest for being closest to earth, this will be beyond unusual for being highly and destructively energetic.  The location will be 21:56 Taurus   (21 degrees and 57 minutes).

Scientific American explains,

On the evening of December 7, 2022, people in a large fraction of the U.S. will be able to see a rare and wonderful astronomical event: the moon will pass directly in front of Mars, blocking it from view.

This event, called an occultation—from a Latin word meaning “hidden”—happens once or twice per year somewhere on Earth.  But like a solar eclipse, you have to be in the right place at the right time to see it.  Think of the upcoming one as a Martian eclipse.

...the drama will build as the moon slowly approaches Mars in the sky, culminating in the moment when the edge of our satellite sweeps over the disk of the planet, causing it to fade away and finally wink out.  A telescope improves the view of course, but it’s still fun to watch without optical aid.

Although Scientific American and other science websites have reported on this rare December 7 occultation, they don't mention there will be two more coming -- January 3 and January 30, 2023.   But In-The-Sky.org does.  It reports these won't be exact occultations but rather that Moon and Mars will be very close together -- the same astrology longitude and nearly exact exact astronomy latitude -- their coordinates. This is called an appulse.  Well, that's close enough for fireworks!

The January 3 Moon/Mars occultation will only be visible in southern Africa.  The location will be 14:29 Taurus.

But the January 30 event will again be visible in the northern hemisphere, including southern U.S.  The location will be 15:55 Taurus.

As explained, Scientific American identified the December 7 occultation as an eclipse, and this one is thereby a Martian eclipse.  As solar and lunar eclipses are major astronomical events in their blocking and revealing qualities, Moon/Mars occultations are total lunar occultations of Mars. eclipses.

Further, the upcoming Moon/Mars January 3 and 30 appulses must be similarly impactive, even though they are not exact occultations, because the Moon and Mars will be so tightly conjoined.  And this is the important part, as astrology is cumulative, the planetary energies January 3 will build upon the occultation December 7; and the planetary energies on January 30 will build on the occultation December 7 and the appulse January 3.

The November 6 Total Lunar Eclipse cited false imaginings and memories of the past create fear of the future but it did not predict which way the midterm elections would go.  But certainly, these descriptors pointed toward the results.  Some Republican folks didn't vote because they believed the election was rigged.  And some more progressive Democratic folks voted because of fear from the Supreme Court abortion ruling and other restrictive Republican policies -- like being against clean energy, the threat of reducing Social Security and Medicare, the horrific January 6 attack...  Yes, folks also yearned for a return to normalcy, and that was a driver in eclipse days voting as well.

The point here is the upcoming occultation, followed by two appulses in January, will certainly also be disruptive.  Moon/Mars overstimulates the mind, causes outbursts and even violences.  Alcohol and drugs are an issue.  Most importantly, Moon/Mars brings aggression in achieving worldly benefits.  Illegitimate ends and appeal to base instincts are hallmarks.  Only influence from wise Jupiter can uplift with moral philosophical restraint -- and there is none here.  (Monopolist Bill Gates has a really powerful Moon/Mars combination, and he gained dominance by nasty competition.)

As far as your own personal experiences, I included the locations in Taurus for these upcoming Moon/Mars conjunctions because if any hit planet(s) in your Vedic chart, you will be Mars-eclipsed.

This Celestial Wheel entry sets the stage for better predicting the future in upcoming Celestial Wheels.  Those will take some time and deep thought.  At this point, though, it seems obvious that the beginning of 2023 will see a lot of drama

Remember To Look Up Tonight

Tonight, Wednesday December 7, the Moon occults Mars in a Martian Eclipse.  See the above December 4 Another Celestial Delight.

Here are some astronomical viewing tips.

Mars will rise in the east before sunset.  Mars is at his brightest for being opposite the Sun.

At sunset, a very bright full Moon will follow Mars to rise in the east.

Both will travel overhead to set in the west in the morning.

You will see the Moon very close to Mars and catching up to him until the occultation.

The time of maximum occultation will be 10:15 PM EST in Washington DC.  The eclipse will last about a half hour.  (Obviously, those in the other time zones will need to adjust the time.)

The chart in the (above) December 4 Another Celestial Delight shows the location at 21:56 Taurus.

Astrologically, this is a highly energetic event.  The (above) December 4 Another Celestial Delightsaid this, Moon/Mars overstimulates the mind, causes outbursts and even violences.  Alcohol and drugs are an issue.  Most importantly, Moon/Mars brings aggression in achieving worldly benefits.  Illegitimate ends and appeal to base instincts are hallmarks.

Solar and lunar eclipse effects begin about two weeks before the actual event and continue for a week or so following.  There's no literature on Martian eclipses, but we can surmise the same kind of energetics.

It seems the past several days have been very eventful -- lots of accidents and discords.  Mars really stirs up the lunar emotions!  Further, as shown in the below Martian Eclipse chart, Mars throws a mean aspect (glance) to the Sun, which also then aspects Mars.  Mars/Sun is fighting and a common combination for the military, fire and police.

Martian Eclipse
10:15 PM Washington, DC

None of these planets hit planets in the U.S. chart or Trump's chart.  However, the house placements are not good for either.  In the U.S. chart, Mars is in the sixth house of enemies and the Sun is in the twelfth house of loss.  The former stirs up discords and the latter results in losses, which may include wealth.  Certainly the U.S.'s strong economy is not sustainable.

For Trump, Mars is in his tenth house of career and the Sun in his fourth house of the emotions, the past and the home.  This Mars makes Trump take on anyone.  The hot Sun burns his already beleaguered emotional mind and stirs up the past.

It seems Trump's recent legal and political losses result from Mars crossing over his tenth house of career three times this fall/winter, and tonight's Martian eclipse is a high point of those destructions.

Agitated

Celestial Wheel entries late summer/fall focused upon two major transits -- Mars afflicting Trump's chart and Saturn afflicting the U.S. chart -- as being determinative for the U.S. and Trump's future.  Yes, there are nine planets, and seldom do one or two steer key Vedic charts in such a tremendous way.  But, this sometimes happens, and certainly, since Mars and Saturn are the two great malefics, if badly placed, they can wreck havoc.  And they did, they are and they will.

Trump  The September 23 Trump Through The Fall explained how Mars's upcoming retrograde crossing his Sun and Rahu three times, ...this trio of Mars, Rahu and Sun is an explosive recipe -- already blowing up.  Of course Trump will continue to fight back but without effect -- except to stir up his base, of course.

U.S.  The August 30 The U.S. Through The Fall explained that transit Saturn will start hitting hard, On October 23 Saturn will turn forward to unleash its loss and suffering.

These two forecasts were initial and incomplete efforts to understand and explain these planetary dispositions.  The November 27 Jupiter Forward revisited these to explain and focus more clearly on what they are and portend.  First, here's the screen shot of Trump's tenth house of career and eleventh of goals and gains.  The arrow shows Mars' motion -- forward, retrograde and forward again.

And here are the motions for that track,

Transit Mars will conjoin Trump's Rahu October 6 and Sun October 25.

Transit Mars will turn retrograde in Gemini October 30 and then retrograde over Trump's Taurus Sun again November 14 and Rahu again November 27.

These Mars combination haymakers on Trump's Rahu and Sun will mortally injure him.  Yet, Trumpism won't roll over easily, nor quickly.

Thus, we should also look ahead further for when Mars turns forward again January 13 and runs over his Rahu and Sun for a third time -- Rahu March 6 and the Sun March 12.  This sure looks like road kill to me.

Thereby transit Mars has already crossed his Trump's Sun and Rahu twice.  Mars has really been beating him up:  midterm elections lost, popularity drops, political supporters flee, legal setbacks drop like bombs and Trump indulges in increasingly bizarre actions/statements.

superhero-themed digital trading card -- $99

As of this date, Mars is over half way through his ten week retrograde -- October 30, 2022 to January 13, 2023.  So, there's still a lot of heavy karma to come this winter.  March is the likely month for indictments.  The Trump Cult is dying and will expire soon.

The Celestial Wheel has generally described retrograde motion as weakening planets, making their energy latent.  That is strictly true only of benefics -- good planets -- Jupiter, Venus, Moon and Mercury.  When malefics Mars and Saturn are retrograde, they too lose assertive action but they then become a quivering mass of conflicted, even tortured, energy.

For Mars, there's stress resulting from his aggressive/destructive energy being blocked.  Frustration and irritation are good words here.  The energy exhibits in disputes, anger and violence.  In a real sense, retrograde makes Mars more damaging than if he were in normal forward motion.  An analogy here is Mars as a dog locked inside the house when he sees a rabbit hopping around in the yard.  He'll try to break down the door to get the rabbit, but the door holds him back.  The dog goes crazy jumping and barking to get out.  The door is badly damaged -- as well, perhaps, are other parts of the house.

The U.S. chart, transit Saturn is more acute for a different reason -- slow Saturn withholds its greatest harms until the very end of a transit.  As noted above, the November 27 Jupiter Forward stated, On October 23 Saturn will turn forward to unleash its loss and suffering.  Also, Saturn will stay in Capricorn until late January.  The exact date is January 17.  There's just a month left in this difficult transit, which interval will see escalating Saturnian losses, suffering and, chronic illness and deaths balloon.   (Note, Saturn has been transiting Capricorn since late January 2020, when COVID first hit.)

Here's the U.S. chart showing transit Saturn in the second house of domestic harmony aspecting the eighth house of catastrophe.

The news recently has been more disturbing, even bizarre than usual, even worse than during peak Trump cult years.  The October 29 Laying Low included a comprehensive explanation of Saturn's harms.  These include:  loathing and harsh degradations, fears and mystical apprehensions, violences and scandals, fear of dark skinned people, sex education and, of course, the emerging tripledemic.  If I missed any Saturn horrors, let me know.

With all these issues, and Saturn's most harsh influence upon second house domestic harmony, the public is at least unhappy and even disgusted.  The elections are over; let's move ahead to high and dry ground, not go back into the swamp!

It is this combination of Mars' causing frustration and irritation with Saturn bringing heightened losses and suffering (plus the holidays!), society is agitated.  This is unpleasant and uncomfortable.

However, do remember Jupiter is forward now.  The November 27 Jupiter Forward entry stated,

This softens the blows from challenging world events -- and issues in your individual Vedic chart as well.  So, it's good news.  Too, Jupiter's quality of optimism, which includes associated confidence, wise, expansive, benevolent, philanthropic... lifts us up from the depressing swamp of the Trump cult and its poisonous influence upon society in general.

Jupiter is strong in its own sign of Pisces, where he'll stay until late April.  While he can't cure the agitation caused by Mars and Saturn, he can use his humanistic progressive energy to fill voids and solve problems brought by Mars and Saturn.  Individually, we can support Jupiter in our own lives by doing Jupiterian things -- philanthropy, forgiveness, religion, philosophy, children, wisdom, and most important of all, optimism.  Obviously, this will make the holidays more bearable and give hope for the future after new years.

One caution, which was made in the December 4 Another Celestial Delight, Certainly the U.S.'s strong economy is not sustainable.  It's been 13 years since the Millennium Contraction (Great Recession).  Since then the economy has been buoyed up by incredibly low interest rates and massive deficits, while it's been tortured by Trump and COVID.  So, set some dollars away to protect yourself and help others.
