Total Lunar Eclipse

Tuesday -- election day -- will see a total lunar eclipse.  Eclipses are major astronomical and astrological events, and this one being total has even great impact for the earth's shadow completely covering the Moon. This blocking effect is the essence of eclipses.  Along with that, the skies darken, showing the stars and thereby reveal otherwise hidden information.  Eclipses bring instability for the all-important luminaries being afflicted.

Total Lunar Eclipse  Washington, DC
November 8, 6:02 AM
21:50 Aries

Note in the above eclipse chart, the Moon is next to Rahu, making it this is a Rahu eclipse.  As the head-of-the-dragon eclipse point, Rahu eclipses are very potent for upcoming worldly events.  (Ketu, the dragon tail, is the opposite in being about the past.)

Further amplifying eclipse effects is the U.S. chart is running both Rahu and Moon in its Dasas (planetary cycles).  As eclipses are actually transits (where the planets are in today's skies), recall that when Dasas and potent transit combinations match, events happen and can be seen -- predicted.  This results because Dasas turn on the planets in charts, and transits act as catalysts.

On election day the U.S. Dasas these are Rahu/Saturn/Moon.  Fortunately, the U.S. chart doesn't have any planets in Aries, or opposite the eclipse in Libra -- also sensitive.  Still a total Rahu lunar eclipse with matching Dasas is definitely impactive.

How and what this eclipse actualizes is naturally the issue.  The October 29 Laying Low entry made these observations,

False imaginings issues from Rahu being insanity and the Moon being perception, the latter which includes the imagination.  Too, as Rahu is the future and the Moon is memory (the past), memories from the past create fear of the future.

For basically grounded folks, this can be merely disconcerting.  If one is prone to emotional swings, the Moon/Rahu eclipse brings irrational thinking and a hot temper.  For those already on the emotional edge (conspiracy theorists, religious zealots...) Moon/Rahu can fully detach one from reality, leading to bizarre, even violent, actions.

Eclipse effects begin about ten days before the actual event.  And although we had a partial solar eclipse October 25, which started eclipse blocking and revealing, there doesn't seem to be anything of great merit we could ascribe to this lunar eclipse -- except for Nancy Pelosi's husband being attacked October 28.  Effects endure for a week or so after the eclipse event.

The October 29 Laying Low stated November 8 election day is not the entire event.  The dramas have already begun and will continue for months and months.  ...This forecast makes clear the upcoming midterm elections November 8 will be fought over at least until the midwinter and likely into the summer.

Trump is being hit really hard this fall/winter because Mars crosses over his Sun and Rahu three times due to retrograde --(fighting, anger.  The U.S. chart also suffers, particularly since Saturn, the planet of denial, ended retrograde October 23.  Then, it's vise like grip began really boring down on U.S. second house domestic harmony and eighth house calamities -- mystical paranoia.  Current ruckus will become mayhem -- lead by Trump and his MAGA army of lies that he stole the 2020 election.

Take another look at the above eclipse chart to see Saturn has ended retrograde but Jupiter and Mars are both retrograde.  (They are also very bright in the night sky since retrograde for both means that the earth is passing them by on the same side of the Sun.)  This brings some further instability because latent retrograde energy reduces their steering roles energy in the solar system.

You'll fortunately be able to see this lunar eclipse in broad areas, including the entire U.S.

The Celestial Wheel has not discussed Biden's chart very much.  However, the October 18, 2021 entry did include a quick birth time rectification for the President that gave a Libra Ascendant -- first house.  He's a Venusian.  This works much better than the Scorpio (Mars) rising chart generally used but lacking birth time documentation.  What's important here is that Biden is running Dasa planets Jupiter/Rahu.  This results in conflict -- Jupiter's higher mind assaulted by Rahu's insatiable worldly desires.  That one word well describes Biden's presidency.  Despite having passed major legislation for pandemic aid, health care, climate, taxes, infrastructure and computers, inflation* has reduced his popularly -- along with, of course, the constant drumbeat of criticism from the right.

(*Inflation stems from the global supply chain breaking down, wage growth and reduced immigration.  American business sold its soul to the Chinese and others for cheap labor -- now diminished -- which is now coming back to haunt the country with inflation catch up ball.  COVID is the chief culprit here, for pandemics have far reaching impacts.)

Viewing the eclipse.  Look south. From the Washington Post,

Hours before citizens across the country cast their votes in a contentious midterm election, a sinister red moon will loom in the sky.  The last total lunar eclipse of 2022 is set to stain the moon red during the wee hours of Tuesday morning.  Residents across both coasts will be able to watch the spectacle for just under 90 minutes.

...The entire moon will illuminate coppery-red from 5:17 a.m. until 6:42 a.m. Eastern time.  But moon fanatics can wake up at 3:02 a.m. to watch the moon enter the outer part of the Earth’s shadow, called a “penumbral” lunar eclipse; this will cause the moon to lightly dim.  The partial eclipse, which will look like a bite was taken out of the moon’s surface, is slated to start at 4:09 a.m.

...Everyone on the night side of the Earth will be able to see the eclipse.

Bright retrograde Jupiter can also be seen earlier that night, and the eclipsed Moon is pretty close to also brilliant retrograde Mars.

PS  Following are some afterthoughts.  There's so much going on, it's difficult to describe fully even the main themes.

Subtropical Storm Nicole on course for Bahamas, storm-weary Florida, "The main impacts on the Florida Peninsula will be from torrential rain and strong, long-duration winds as well as the effects of pounding waves on the Atlantic coast,"

The August 30 U.S. Through The Fall stated,

On October 23 Saturn will turn forward to unleash its loss and suffering upon the Dasa lineup of Rahu/Saturn/Moon (August 25 to November 18).

...Late season hurricanes should be expected, as well as a hurricane-like election season with its final voting date of November 8.

The August 6 Mars Finishing In Aries cautioned
Saharan dust blowing westward across the Atlantic Ocean has depressed hurricane formation. And ...later summer/fall hurricanes to be more powerful.  Further, Saharan dust fertilizes the Gulf of Mexico, which stimulates red tide Hurricane Ian was a record breaker.  And we have red tide now, Red Tide Detected In Sarasota County Beaches.

It seems that Saturn turning forward so upset Americans the election balance has turned toward the Republicans,
Saturn, the planet of denial, ended retrograde October 23.  Then, it's vise like grip began really boring down on U.S. second house domestic harmony and eighth house calamities -- mystical paranoia.

Normal Again!

While everyone is still puzzling through why the Democrats overcame the Republicans in this years midterm elections -- refuting Trump -- the Washington Post published this revealing article today, How the 1918 pandemic changed America, from women’s rights to germaphobia
,

In 1920, Sen. Warren G. Harding campaigned for president on one of the blandest platforms in U.S. history.  He promised neither hope nor change, nor making America great again.   Instead, his slogan — which would help him win an unprecedented 60 percent of the popular vote — was a “return to normalcy.”

"America’s present need is not heroics but healing; not nostrums but normalcy; not revolution but restoration; not agitation but adjustment; not surgery but serenity,” he told Americans in a speech four months before his victory.  After the two crises of World War 1 and the 1918 influenza pandemic, normalcy was a welcome salve.

And here's my comment,

This truth was actually already posted in the Celestial Wheel -- in the October 29 Laying Low.  Here's a screen shot of the opening paragraphs,

That Celestial Wheel entry also addressed the astrology for America's mood,

You can see transit Saturn (the planet of loss and denial) is in the second house of domestic harmony and speech where dissolving Ketu is placed within the chart.  This is a lousy combination, for Ketu breaks up Saturn's responsibility and duty into a mess of loathing and harsh degradations.  The arrow shows Saturn aspecting the terrible eighth house, where Mercury's intellect and Rahu's serpent energy reside.  Lots of fears and mystical apprehensions result (violences and scandals too!), and because Rahu is foreigners, a fear of dark skinned people.

But this analysis, although correct, didn't take the next step of relating it to the voters' drama fatigue rejecting the Trump cult at the polls.  It just and only described the energy and stated it will continue through at least January, even to the summer.

Of course, the media and historians will look for a signal event that toppled Trump over in voters' minds -- a tipping point.  This may very well be Paul Pelosi's husband being beaten on the head with a hammer

In closing, that same entry observed about Trump, who can never admit a los, Mars hits hard and repeatedly Trump's Sun and Rahu -- again until mid March. Also see the arrow from transit Mars in Tauru to the Moon and Ketu in Scorpio. With an already insane and unbalanced lunar mind, this will send Trump over the top -- yet again.  So yes, the dramas will continue for some time, but the election is over, and nobody has to play with cult leader Trump any longer.  As the Celestial Wheel has said many times about Trump, he destroys the old political parties and then blow himself up.

In closing, keep in mind it was the 19018 Spanish Flu that finished stressing everyone out, making them seek normalcy.  And that is happening again.  But don't believe the consequences of COVID are over in with this rejection of the Trump cult.  The Washington Post article ended with this, And if the varied aftermath of the 1918 flu pandemic can teach us anything, it's this:  The ravages of a pandemic only bring simmering societal issues to q boil, underscoring the prejudices that already exist.  It will probably take decades for the true outcome to be known.  Actually, there will be many COVD well known consequences during this transformational 18 year Rahu Dasa in the U.S. chart that ends in late 2033.

Remember the October 15 Cheeseburger in Paradise?  It recited that since 2017, retirement paradise Venice, FL has been hit by two category 4 hurricanes and two bad bouts of red tide.  Since then, Hurricane Nicole hit, and another red tide has assaulted the Gulf Coast.  And it's not even a full month since that forecast!  This is not just a warning about climate change but also an alert to massive societal changes that the path ahead to the Second Progressive Age brings.

Jupiter Forward

Jupiter, the planets of luck, fortune, expansion and optimism, finally turned forward this past Wednesday (November 23) after a seemingly endless retrograde.  Jupiter was retrograde for four months, beginning July 28.

This softens the blows from challenging world events -- and issues in your individual Vedic chart as well.  So, it's good news.  Too, Jupiter's quality of optimism, which includes associated confidence, wise, expansive, benevolent, philanthropic... lifts us up from the depressing swamp of the Trump cult and its poisonous influence upon society in general.

Yet, we should guard against being overly Jupiter-optimistic, for Trump beginning to lose.  He's fighting back even harder.  That conflict coincides with U.S. struggling through this very tough Rahu/Saturn Dasa lineup  -- January 5, 2021 to November 11, 2023.  (Notice the January 6 insurrection was just one day later.)  Yes, we have a nearly a year left!

Discussing Trump first, recall the September 23 Trump Through The Fall,

Transit Mars at 23:11 degrees is now just 4 degrees from his Rahu and 6 degrees from his Sun.  In Vedic Astrology, this trio of Mars, Rahu and Sun is an explosive recipe -- already blowing up.  Of course Trump will continue to fight back but without effect -- except to stir up his base, of course.  For autocrats their fall back positions are always religion, finished by violence.

Although transiting planets are within range at 4 degrees from planets they approach, the energy does increase until they are exactly conjoined.  So, let's look at the exact conjunction dates.

Transit Mars will conjoin Trump's Rahu October 6 and Sun October 25.

Transit Mars will turn retrograde in Gemini October 30 and then retrograde over Trump's Taurus Sun again November 14 and Rahu again November 27.

These Mars combination haymakers on Trump's Rahu and Sun will mortally injure him.  Yet, Trumpism won't roll over easily, nor quickly.

Thus, we should also look ahead further for when Mars turns forward again January 13 and runs over his Rahu and Sun for a third time -- Rahu March 6 and the Sun March 12.  This sure looks like road kill to me.

With today being when Mars conjoins Rahu again, note that just this past week Trump lost twice in court and got caught having dinner with white supremacists.

The October 29 Laying Low explained about the U.S.,

You can see transit Saturn (the planet of loss and denial) is in the second house of domestic harmony and speech where dissolving Ketu is placed within the chart.  This is a lousy combination, for Ketu breaks up Saturn's responsibility and duty into a mess of loathing and harsh degradations.  The arrow shows Saturn aspecting the terrible eighth house, where Mercury's intellect and Rahu's serpent energy reside.

Lots of fears and mystical apprehensions result (violences and scandals too!), and because Rahu is foreigners, a fear of dark skinned people.  That's the racism endemic to America.  Saturn will stay in Capricorn until late January.  Expect then, the Saturn-inspired turmoils to continue at least until then.  But Saturn in Aquarius means the planet of loss attacks the perceptional Moon (Sadi Sati).  So Saturn will continue to cause problems until at least summer.

The above insert did not include other eighth house qualities coming up from the hidden depths into reality.  As the eighth is sex, the current culture wars include sex education in schools, books in libraries.... and, of course, they're targeting the LGBT community.  Too, states have been passing restrictive abortion laws.

The eight is also violences.  Although Saturn destroying domestic harmony did not play out in the midterm elections, well, Goldie Hawn did say I wanna wear my sandals... I wanna go out to lunch. I wanna be NORMAL again!.  That is why voters rejected Trumpism.  But that seething anger let loose its energy in another flurry of mass murders.  Related is a new issue -- corporal punishment in schools -- Sarasota Herald Tribune.

Finally, as Saturn is the planet of death and the eighth house is the house of life and death, there's a tripledemic looming -- COVID seasonal flu and RSV (respiratory syntactical virus).  And only a minority of Americans have had all three COVID boosters plus the seasonal flue vaccine.

Yet, despite all this gloom, that Jupiter is forward again brings both hope and some Jupiterian gains.  After waiting since January for T-Mobile home internet, this receiver connecting to the cell phone system finally came this past Wednesday.  And associated with this, I found out about the federal Affordable Connectivity Program -- a free phone for lower income folks.  Finally, for those of you on Social Security, the 8.5% increase starts in December -- payable beginning January.  So, take advantage of opportunity for gain and then use those benefits to secure yourself from inevitable disruptions as the Gilded Age racists battle progressive elements in society.
