The Gauntlet's End

     The Gauntlet describes the final planetary trial during the summer-fall of 2008.  It is the transits of of fast-moving Venus, Mercury and the Sun crossing over malefic planets Ketu and Saturn, and was first described in the July 25 Celestial Wheel.  That Celestial Wheel further explained, The Gauntlet also includes Mars -- Venus and Mercury catch up with Mars on September 8. 

     The Gauntlet was later detailed in the August 28 Celestial Wheel, The Gauntlet will end about September 13, when Venus and Mercury will be clear of Mars.  Specific effects were also explained in the August 28 Celestial Wheel, and this focused upon the truly critical Russia invasion of Georgia, where both gas and oil pipelines from the East are critical to both Europe and the U.S.  While the Sun's significations for personal power and government are compromised, also specifically noted was, Venus and Mercury are already closing to Mars bringing fast angry moods, aggression competitiveness and passion in all things.  It is important to understand The Gauntlet impacts both world events and your own personal experiences.  Everyone has felt Gauntlet stresses in one way or another -- or has been subjected to those effects.

     Too, although these transits must aggravate the Atlantic hurricanes, as explained in the August 31 Celestial Wheel, in the section, Hurricane Gustav -- A Solar Eclipse Effect, The country remains at risk from the continuing effects of the destructive August 1 solar eclipse.  All the hurricanes, then, truly emanate from the solar eclipse, explained in the May 23 Celestial Wheel

(Note: the August 18 In-dept Forecast, The Challenging Summer Of 2008, recaps the recently completed Mars conjunctions and the solar eclipse shown in this timeline, including a predictions check.)

This transit chart for today sets the first house in Sagittarius.  In mirroring the U.S., it is the transit chart for the U.S. Note the following:      The Sun has passed Ketu and on September 4.      Venus and Mercury have also crossed both Ketu and the Sun and are very close to Mars, bringing fast angry moods, aggression competitiveness and passion in all things.      Mental Mercury conjoins with warrior Mars midday September 8.  Venus will do the same late on September 11.  While transits usually signal events before the actual conjunction, use special care on the 8th and the 11.  It's best delay decisions and avoid discord.  Also, with this summer's planetary stresses harming shelter, food and fuel, many folks are just plain worn out -- exhausted.  So, take it easy on yourself, and others too.

U.S. Transits September 6, 2008

     On September 13, both Mercury and Venus will be clear of Mars, and The Gauntlet will be over.

    When The Gauntlet ends, the planets will shine with beneficence upon the globe until November 30 -- the first time since August of 2007.  This was explained in the August 28 Celestial Wheel, in the section. Better This Fall.   But it is worth repeating here -- so readers, don't miss it!  Take advantage of this window of opportunity to put your house in order, whether resolving real estate issues, paying off credit cards, getting out of your gas guzzler...

The Hurricanes

     The August 28 and 31 Celestial Wheels discussed what Gustav and Hanna would do.

     Gustav, This interval -- from late tonight all through Monday (9/1) -- is dangerous, and it matches with the mid Monday landfall weather prediction.  As the Moon is the home, it is the key planet in evaluating storm damage.  The U.S. chart's Astrocartography also shows damage tomorrow, although this peaks a little later in the afternoon -- 3 PM.  This looks very bad.  The media has been transfixed with the Republican Convention, but there is some early reporting.  This article's title Gustav damage between $4 and $10 billion is revealing by itself.  This next article confirms the predicted Monday, September 1, mid afternoon peak, Hurricane Gustav Comes Ashore; New Orleans Levees Hold, as of 3 p.m. eastern time, the city's levees were holding up against their most severe test since catastrophic Hurricane Katrina.  By 6 PM that day, extensive sandbagging had secured levees that were being overtopped by flood waters.

     Hanna, The challenging planetary karmas peak from tonight through early Tuesday morning, which suggests that if Hanna will intensify and threaten the coast as a hurricane, it would be during this interval.  This too is consistent with the weather forecast.  Hopefully, Hanna will come ashore as a tropical storm and only drench Florida's East Coast.  Still, all bets are off until Friday, September 5.  See, Hanna Headed For The Carolinas, Expected To Make Landfall Tonight Or Early Morning.  Landfall was further north than predicted, but the drenching is correct.

     Ike, This is a hard storm to predict.  The U.S. Dasas (planetary cycles) are Moon/Sun/Saturn until September 24. Only Saturn gives a clue for losses, notably wealth, for transit Saturn is in the ninth house of wealth and fortune.  Also, destructive Mars does not greatly influence the all-important Moon -- the home -- for a while. 

     Mars will be aspecting the Moon in Sagittarius on September 8 & 9, but the U.S. chart's protective Jupiter is also transiting there.  Yet, since the 9th is a Mars Tuesday, that would be the most likely day for Ike to strike -- causing further harms in the Caribbean.  At this time, Ike really doesn't appear to be a major threat for the next week or so, however. 

     The Moon escapes further aspect from Mars until September 15 & 16 -- when Ike would make landfall if it goes into the Gulf of Mexico.  That mid month Mars-to-Moon aspect could also signal another tropical storm.  That transit Mars will then conjoin the U.S. chart's Saturn gives confirmation for violence and major loss.

     Because these hurricanes are of national importance, and some subscribers live in risk areas, Ike will be carefully monitored and prediction updates sent.

     I don't know if it's just me, but I've seen at least a half dozen women who appear to be wearing Palin glasses.  When asked, they acknowledge others have made the same observation, and actually act flattered.   This is too weird.

     Also, one of this astrologer's favorite sayings is, Ignorance is not bliss.  It's only ignorance.  Perhaps this should be updated to, Ignorance can dress up as sexy charisma, but it remains only ignorance.  (Note: If you're not informed about the Bush Doctrine, it is the monumental and fundamental change to American foreign policy by endorsing preemptive war.  If this disturbs anyone's bliss, then welcome to reality.)

     This is a direct email notice sent to subscribers yesterday, September 12.

Hurricane Ike heads to Houston Dear subscribers, The below, is from the July 21 Celestial Wheel Note that the referenced Sun line runs just west of Houston -- fitting with the concern for disrupting oil and gas.  (I'm not even a psychic, you know.)   The Total Solar Eclipse      This is the August 1 solar eclipse chart at 4:45 AM CDT.  Note the eclipse location at 15 degrees and 32 minutes in Cancer, the home.       Again, Dallas is used for this Ketu eclipse, which can be seen for Ketu being in Cancer with the Sun and Moon exactly conjoined.       Dallas was selected because Ketu is gas and oil, and Texas is the hub for U.S. gas and oil production and refining.  Gulf oil platforms and Houston refineries are naturally of greatest concern.      The U.S. is at risk because this eclipse occurs in that chart's eighth house of catastrophe a little over one degree from Rahu at sixteen degrees and fifty one minutes . Transit August 1, 2008 at 4:45 AM, CDT Dallas TX      Further, the U.S. chart's Dasas on August 1 will be: Moon/Sun/Rahu/Mars/Saturn.  This is a dangerous combination for the eclipse.      Another confirmation a hurricane will hit Texas is that the Astrocartography Sun -- eclipsed and rising -- will be transiting through Texas at the 4:45 maximum eclipse time, as shown below.        Obviously, the predicted major hurricane disrupting oil and gas would send another shock through the U.S. economy.    Also, the repeated hurricanes hitting the U.S. result from the U.S. chart being hit hard by the August 1 solar eclipse.  This was explained and reaffirmed in the July 25 Celestial Wheel, emphasis added, Final Solar Eclipse Comments The August 1 early morning total solar eclipse in Cancer has been repeatedly discussed -- beginning with the May 23 Celestial Wheel and continuing in entries this month on the 15th and the 23rd.  These discourses have been comprehensive and specific. However, the mystery of how karma actualizes mandates that no astrology prediction be exact, although the prediction can be still essentially correct. Yet, I have to stand on the Celestial Wheel prediction of a major hurricane disrupting oil and gas. Otherwise, predictions are just fudging. ...Recall that eclipse events continue for about a week after the actual eclipse.  So, while the astronomical event on August 1 is key, it could be just a pivot point for a later event. Finally, eclipse effects last for at least six months, often longer. Thereby, whatever the solar eclipse brings will impact for many months.

It's Still Not Over Til It's Over

     Information about Hurricane Ike's harms is slowly being reported.  However, the storm was huge, and destruction thereby so widespread, the government and media don't yet understand the extent and ramifications of Ike's harms.  Too, concern about survivors is the top priority, crowding out other news reporting.

      Here's an early article about the predicted oil/gas harms, Hurricane Ike strikes heart of U.S. oil sector.  This was predicted in the July 21 The Celestial Wheel, which also looked ahead to national impacts, Obviously, the predicted major hurricane disrupting oil and gas would send another shock through the U.S. economy.

     It's ironic that this hurricane hit as The Gauntlet ended.  While this match-up was not specifically anticipated, it certainly fits.

      The September 6 Celestial Wheel also cautioned, The Moon (home) escapes further aspect from Mars until September 15 & 16 -- when Ike would make landfall if it goes into the Gulf of Mexico.  That mid month Mars-to-Moon aspect could also signal another tropical storm.  That transit Mars will then conjoin the U.S. chart's Saturn gives confirmation for violence and major loss.  This forecasting was off on the landfall date, but the predicted mid-month harms remain ahead -- tomorrow and Tuesday.  Further, as the all-important Moon will be under Mars' glare Wednesday and Thursday, this caution is extended for tomorrow (Monday) through Thursday.   Adding to the lunar karma, actively violent Mars' energy on the U.S.'s industrial Saturn indicates further harms to oil/gas production, refining and/or distribution, some other disaster, or even another tropical storm.  Finally, the U.S. chart's Dasas (planetary cycles) include Saturn and Mars today through Tuesday, and then Saturn and Rahu for the next four days. There's simply too much challenging karma to avoid disasters this week.

      We can get some clues about Wednesday and Thursday by examining the Lunar Nakshatras -- the Moon has 27 of it's own houses in Vedic Astrology.  On Wednesday, the Moon will in Ashwini, which symbolizes horses and medical miracles but also transport of all kinds.  This fits with Venus (vehicles) currently being weak in its fallen sign -- and we've already seen this in the California train wreck, the Russian plane crash, Alitalia 'can guarantee no flights after Sunday' and Afghanistan: Pakistan fury at US cross-border attacks.  This last is about G.W. Bush's now frantic attempts to get Bin Laden and alerts us to not be distracted from issues outside the U.S. by our hurricanes and election dramas.

     Getting back to the Lunar Nakshatras, Ashwini is ruled by Ketu -- the indicator of gas and oil --  confirming that negative karma.  On Thursday, the Moon shifts into Bharani, indicating struggles and discord -- its womb and Yama (god of death) symbols, makes every birth a death and every death a birth.  Bharani is ruled by Venus, suggesting more vehicle/transport problems.

The Palin Glasses Mystery

     While nearly everyone is fascinated by Sarah Palin -- some enthralled and others alarmed -- nobody has examined the role of her trademark glasses. 

     Last evening CNN had an hour special on Sarah Palin's life.  All the photos, of course, showed this handsome woman in her trademark glasses -- except there was a flash shot of her without glasses that appeared to be recent.   Wow!  Palin truly is the most beautiful woman. 

     I searched and searched for that photo this morning, but the only image on the web of Palin without glasses is this 1984 photo of her as Miss Wasilla.  She was just 20 then, certainly good looking, but the black and white is limiting, and she has the kind of good looks that get better with age.  The face is full, almost plump, in the 1984 photo.

     Palin's chart is being rectified, and the early result shows abundant Jupiter rules of the second house of the face.  Jupiter is placed in the fifth house of past life credit, sports, children, creative intelligence, investments, entertainment and government.  Venus is also in the fifth house with Jupiter, and this combination makes her gorgeous, especially the face -- symmetrical and refined features, lovely shape, wonderful skin, luxurious lips, dazzling eyes.....

(Note: Jupiter and Venus bring forward all fifth house significations, explaining why: she has five children, is regal, gives a desire for ruling others and is brilliant.)

     In this chart, however, Palin has Sun/Mars in the third house of desires, which also makes her a ruthless political warrior -- and also gives a masculine disposition.  Those traits certainly fit well with fifth house her desire to rule.

     How can a strikingly lovely woman be a tough politician?  No one could take her seriously, especially in frontier Alaska and the traditionally male-dominated Republican Party.  The answer, hide the beauty.   One way is to dress modestly, which Palin does because furtive Ketu is placed in her second house of dress.  There are no hot ticket cleavage or leg images of Palin.  Another way is to cover the upper part of the face, especially the eyes, with glasses.  Even better, select titanium, rimless rectangular frames that are good looking, but more masculine handsome than feminine lovely.  And, never be seen without the glasses.

     If anyone can find that recent CNN photo, or any other current photo of Palin without glasses, please send it on.  Failing that, find a photo with cleavage, lots of leg or that otherwise displays her beauty.  A bikini photo would be perfect!

Clarification On Calming Planets

     This past weekend's Lehman Brothers bankruptcy and the Merrill Lynch takeover by Bank Of America highlight turmoil in the U.S. financial markets.  There are also issues with insurance company AIG, bank Washington Mutual...

     So, it's easy to experience some confusion, since challenging The Gauntlet ended Saturday, September 13 (as per the above entries on the 6th and 12th). 

     The August 28 Celestial Wheel advised in Better This Fall.  The key elements detailed were: Jupiter regaining forward motion September 4, The Gauntlet's ending the 13th and Venus moving out of it's fallen sign of Virgo and into it's own sign of Libra September 19.  These are transits, the positions of the planets in today's skies, which describe global karmas.  Using a weather analogy, it will be generally sunny and calm until the end of November.  As stated August 28,

     With two out of these three variables completed, some people are already finding the road ahead smoothing out.  Yet, until Venus moves into Libra on the 19th, it's best to be careful in your activities and not initiate plans to put your house in order until the end of this week.

      Another variable is your personal Vedic chart with it's Dasas (planetary cycles) and specific transit impacts upon its houses.  So, some may already feel liberated from The Challenging Summer Of 2008, while others find life continues to be tedious, even arduous.

     What's happening in the U.S. reflects that nation chart, which remains badly afflicted through Thursday of this week -- as explained in yesterday's Celestial Wheel, above.  So, even as the transiting planets have been improving, the U.S. suffers.  That the U.S. chart's Dasas improve with a minor cycle of abundant Jupiter on the 20th is encouraging.  Still, keep in mind that challenges in the U.S. also relate to the devastating August 1 solar eclipse, which effects can continue for the next few months.  So, even as the U.S. chart's transits and Dasas become more favorable, further eclipse disasters can occur.

     Over the past several entries, three risk areas were identified for the U.S.: hurricane/oil, vehicles/transport and finance.  Expect further problems in all three areas through Thursday, the 18th -- or really, until the end of this business week.  Not previously mentioned is that the Big Three U.S. automakers are seeking $50 billion in Federal loans for retooling to fuel efficient cars.  This actually hits two of the variables -- vehicles and finance.

     Let's hope everyone's personal experiences and the U.S. improve, or at least settles down by week's end. 

Updating The Presidential Forecast

     During the last several weeks, the Celestial Wheel has focused upon The Gauntlet and U.S. tribulations.  Hopefully, the planets calming by week's end will allow the important updating of the U.S. Presidential race forecast.  The Celestial Wheel home page has already been redesigned to include a section Forecast Series, which includes a column, 2008 Presidential Election.  This compiles previous forecasting on this topic.  Further forecasting will be added to that column.  Take a look to get up to speed on this critical issue.

     Candidate birth times continue to be problematical.  Barack Obama's was fixed at 7:24 PM with the June publication of his birth certificate.  John McCain's 9:00 AM gives the correct Ascendant in Virgo, but rectification will be needed to pin down the exact time.  This will yield accurate Dasa results, which are indispensable in evaluating the upcoming November 4 election.  When this rectification is done, an update on the election will be composed and published.

     While the Vice Presidential candidates tend to be incidental to these contests, this year is obviously a new ball game.  Yet, it is the Presidential candidates people vote for, not the guy, or gal, riding shotgun on the Washington Express.  The Celestial Wheel has used 8:30 AM for Joe Biden's birth time with success.  Sarah Palin's birth time is currently unknown, and there's a lot of junk on the web with several times.  The Celestial Wheel currently favors Scorpio rising, with a birth time of around 3 AM.  There's another birth time of 9:43 PM yielding a Virgo rising chart that also looks pretty good. 

     Election analysis including the Vice Presidential candidates will await a clear understanding of, and agreement about, Palins' birth time. The worst thing to do is interpret a chart and then later a document surfaces giving a different time.  This already happened with Barack Obama, causing confusion and doubts.

This Week's Financial Turbulence

     The following was emailed to subscribers yesterday, September 29,

Dear subscribers,     On last Monday, September 22, I sent out an email notice -- A Heads-up For This Week -- alerting you to continued turbulence, Expect disruption this week in Congress approving the bailout plan.  The political campaigns will also join in the fracas.  The legislation could also have flaws resulting from the rush.  Also other financial firms could fail and/or the markets gyrate wildly.  Let's hope that the dust settles by the end of the week to reveal stability. ...The (predicted) secreted government or private skullduggery also fits with the financial crisis -- in past actions that caused the financial crisis and possibly in upcoming shenanigans this week. Note that is information was also posted on The Celestial Wheel website September 22 With the U.S. House of Representatives voting down the $700 billion bailout package, and the DOW Jones falling a record $778, that turbulence obviously continues.  Also, giant Wachovia Bank stock dropped to $1 per share and was absorbed today by Citibank. This week, the U.S. Vedic chart is not badly afflicted, and too, Jupiter and Venus (the planets of wealth) are fairly well disposed.  This begs the question as to why the turmoil continues?  In the World Transit Chart (below), the dim Moon is in Virgo now with retrograde Mercury, which suggests intense mental focus, and also uncertainty.  This is also the 6th house of debts. In the U.S. chart, Virgo is the 10th house of the public, where Saturn is placed, causing additional restriction and blocking optimism.  That the U.S. chart's Dasas (planetary cycles) include Mercury September 24 to October 20, confirms the karma. The Moon will shift into Libra with Mars tomorrow (Mars Tuesday), heightening emotions again and also signaling loss of wealth.  Meanwhile, retrograde Mercury is backing into the U.S. Saturn, and they become conjunct on Thursday, October 2.  Mental clarity will thereby be increasingly compromised this week.  These dispositions indicate the financial crisis will continue, although it is driven more by perception than reality.  This could be just another case of G.W. Bush crying wolf, but then again, in that Aesop fable, there actually was a wolf -- at the end.  Interestingly, in one version of the fable, the wolf ate the flock.  In another version, the wolf ate the boy. As the U.S. chart is only temporarily compromised in a basically perceptional/analytical level, and we've already seen the predicted skullduggery in McCain's antics, there is likely more that is yet unseen.  It could very well be that the Bush/McCain bailout package is either not necessary or simply won't resolve the issue. It appears best to wait out this week to see what occurs and not let the Republican fear mongering again stampede the nation into a bad decision -- like Iraq.  If it turns out that there really is a wolf, perhaps he'll ignore the flock (the economy) and eat both the boys.  Finally, the argument that the bailout plan only postpones an inevitable recession/depression (as real estate and other assets decline to realistic levels), seems the most realistic.  Economic contractions don't occur in a straight line.  There are typically scares stimulating drops, followed by temporary recoveries.  The Vedic astrology shows the rest of this fall through November being auspicious, but a big hit will come in February, 2009.  This happens to coincide with the release of 4th quarter corporate results, which are also year end.  Then, U.S. Mars Dasa and a conjunction of Mars, Rahu and Jupiter will resemble the Financial Panic of 1893 -- which initiated a four year depression.  There will also be a solar eclipse January 26 and a lunar eclipse February 9 -- just to spice up the chili.
