The August 22 Celestial Wheel alerted to emotional stress his past Monday through Wednesday, when the Moon transited across Rahu and Mars. This proved to be a useful heads-up to Subscribers, several of whom reported challenging experiences. This is an excellent case of the value of forewarned is forearmed, as compared with the belief that knowing of upcoming problems causes them to occur -- a still popular fear-based New Age belief that misapplies the laws of karma. Karma simply means action. Yes, thought is a manifestation of karma, for thought must precede action. However, because thought is a precursor to action, it is only a subjective reality, a seed.. Action itself is objective reality -- the operable part of karma, when the seed germinates. You can change your thoughts, but you cannot undue your actions. Here are some Subscriber reports. S.W. in New Mexico is placing her declining parents in a retirement community. M. M. in California was deluged by a misguided suitor with flowers, and even a teddy bear. She cut him off, though the teddy bear's fate is unknown. C. B. in Minnesota advised, ... had our first fight Tues night that damn Mars day! A valuable Vedic gem shipment by J. H. in Arizona dropped out of the UPS tracking system but was finally successfully delivered. V. F. in Arizona reined in a boisterous teenager. The August 22 Celestial Wheel also suggested, Yet, it is only through struggle that growth and positive change occurs. Further, struggle doesn't necessarily mean vanquishing rivals -- often the effort is only to overcome resistance from the universe. In this regard, M. L. in Maryland, offered this insight in an e-mail entitled Silver linings in struggle, .
September 6 is also the day Venus leaves it's fallen (weak) position in Virgo to enter Libra, which will begin to restore contentment and ease. Although the world continues to be a stressful place for both our personal experiences and world affairs (primarily due to the Mars/Saturn struggle), Israel's withdrawal from Gaza is a singular achievement. Provocatively, Israel completed its violent six year Sun Dasa (planetary cycle) August 9 to begin its good ten year Moon Dasa. Dasa changes are turning points in the life, and this discussed in the June 30, 2004 In-depth Forecast, #53 Part 2 The Timeless Mideast Bottleneck -- Israel, in which I stated, Israel's good and protective ten year Moon cycle begins exactly one year later. It is expected, then, that the Palestinian discord can begin to calm beginning in August and that Israel will begin solving the Palestinian problem after August 2005. Take a few minutes to review this Forecast -- it is concise and obviously prescient. In closing today, I would like to make a brief comment on the concept of Intelligent Design. The idea, of course, is that there is a guiding force behind the universe, which is also naturally required for Vedic Astrology to work. So, I have no argument with the concept. I also believe it doesn't conflict with the established scientific proofs of evolution, for it isn't science and cannot be proven. The issue is that Intelligent Design and the spiritually-based craft of Vedic Astrology do not belong in science classes but rather are appropriate for philosophy classes.
With Mars/Saturn battling, plus Jupiter (optimism) and Venus (happiness and contentment both afflicted, this August is, for many, simply bereft of positive and uplifting feelings. These influences upon world affairs were described in the August 12 Celestial wheel, expect through early September, a continued erosion of real estate confidence, negative economic trends, political scandals, and of course, ongoing failure in Iraq -- G.W. Bush's "Great Misadventure."
Yet, it is only through struggle that growth and positive change occurs. Further, struggle doesn't neces-sarily mean vanquishing rivals -- often the effort is only to overcome resistance from the universe. My moving to a new rental house is a case in point. Getting out of my old studio during summer monsoon rains and sewer construction on the street was truly difficult. Plus, my formerly benign landlady turned into a viper. However by focused relentless effort, I both completed the move and was gratified with many excellent estate sale purchases. Lifestyle quality has been tremendously improved, and I appreciate the result more for having worked tenaciously for it. To win doesn't necessarily mean that someone else loses. While Mars/Saturn won't relent until February, September will see Venus and Jupiter moving into advantageous positions. On September 6, Venus transits out of the Virgo war zone into Libra -- a sign it rules. On September 28, Jupiter follows Venus into Libra. These changes are the light at the end of a gloomy summer tunnel for us personally and favorable too for world affairs. In regard to the latter, Cindy Sheehan's anti-war protest outside G.W. Bush's ranch is fueled by the challenging planetary dispositions and could hasten the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq. See today's Washington Post goose bumps article, They Are Stardust, And in Texas -- At the Crawford Protest Camp, Growing Echoes of Woodstock. Yes, Crosby, Stills and Nash still live. There is hope to regain the humanistic achievements emblemized by Woodstock. As Ketu is a major influence now, and Ketu is the past, it indicates looking back to advance forward.
Moving from general to specific in world affairs, G. W. Bush's chart planetary cycles changed a few days ago. From July 2 to August 18, he was running Saturn/Jupiter/Sun. We look to this third level cycle as the short term steering influence. With Bush's Sun in the twelfth house of seclusion, it is natural he would hide out at his Texas ranch. From August 19 to November 3, Bush runs Saturn/Jupiter/Moon. Bush's Moon rules his Ascendant (self) and is placed in third house of desires, where it makes him intoxicated with power. Expect Bush to make forceful and determined efforts to regain lost popularity and power -- roaring like a wounded lion out of Crawford. However, as he has suffered an excess of Kama (desire) over Kama (power) since the beginning of his second term, strong-arm actions and pronouncements will not succeed. (For Bush, Mars/Saturn attack his tenth house of career and first house of recognition/fame) (See the February 25, 2005 In-depth Forecast, #61 Kama & Kendra -- Desire & Power) These will likely be even counterproductive. There is some danger here Bush's his frustration actualizing into destructive impulse -- saber rattling, or even a military strike against a perceived enemy such as Iran or North Korea. Another risk is scandal, and this could emerge toward the end of this month, as Venus (his friends) transits across Ketu. Note: I now have high speed internet access through E-Sedona. While vedic@kachina.net will continue to function, my primary e-mail is now vedic@esedona.net. Also, I've ported (moved) my land-line phone (928) 203 4347 to my cell phone. This means that call come directly to me at all times.
August 12 The predicted event(s) Tuesday or Wednesday puncturing the real estate bubble have obviously not occured. Still, the difficult planetary dispositions signifying destruction, confirmed by the intuitives, appear to be incrementally actualizing. Certainly, oil prices marching up daily this week to today's historic high $67 per barrel is cause for concern. The Valerie Plame CIA leak scandal continues in the press, and this promises to be a major scandal when the Grand Jury completes its work. Also, yesterday, lobbyist Jack Abramoff was indicted, and his ties extend to House majority leader Tom Delay and beyond. These, and possibly other scandals, are called for in G.W. Bush's chart. Further, there has been an an increase in reports of real estate markets softening and bubble bursting warnings from the press. Even here in Sedona, which has been a hotspot, the popular mantra of Sedona is special, is yielding to lowered commercial lease rates, realtors begrudgingly admitting to a softening and the public questioning the reality of current high prices. I've been shopping for a house rental, and the landlords have all been manic about getting their homes rented immediately. It's interesting for a prospective tenant, much less an astrologer, to be courted by landlords. Usually, I'm treated with polite distrust. It may be that the destructive event prediction for August 9 and 10 was a manifestation of Mercury retrograde confusion. (There's a similar logic in the oil and real estate markets being jittery.) Keep in mind too, that Mars/Saturn stimulates frustration and worry. As stated in the April 5 Celestial Wheel, Recall that Mars and Saturn are locked together by each aspecting (glancing upon) the other -- that Mars is projective energy, and Saturn is resistance. This combination stimulates energy but at the same time creates struggle. So, there's a powerful urge to get things done, but frustration in doing so. Obstacles pop up that can only be overcome with sustained effort and patience. The third discordant planetary disposition (see The August 5 Celestial Wheel) is that the dissolving tail-of-the-dragon (eclipse point) Ketu is now exactly conjunct Jupiter, the planet of wealth. Finally, as of today, Venus, also signifying wealth, has moved into its fallen (weak) sign of Virgo. There, Venus suffers (like Jupiter) from being conjunct Ketu and also being aspected by Saturn. Venus stays in Virgo until September 6. So, rather than looking for specific dates bringing a destructive determinative event(s), expect through early September, a continued erosion of real estate confidence, negative economic trends, political scandals, and of course, ongoing failure in Iraq -- G.W. Bush's great misadventure. As Mercury will turn direct on August 16, mental clarity will be regained -- yet this may mean that people see more clearly how challenging and tenuous the world situation is, rather than regaining confidence. That Mars/Saturn continue grinding against each other until February 5, 2006, suggests challenges will continue to come in fits and spurts. It was mentioned above that I've been shopping for a house rental. This was a laborious process but has been completed. I'll be moving August 15 but hope to be operational by the end of the week. Provocatively, noted Vedic Astrologers Jeffrey Armstrong and Chakrapani Ullal have also recently moved -- bringing the idea that Vedic Astrologers are seeking higher ground? On the bright side, Jupiter will transit out of Virgo on September 28 into Libra. There, Jupiter will finally be free of Saturn, which restriction has been more or less continuous since before the millennium. This may not improve worldly affairs, but a single aspect by Mars to Jupiter will, however, stimulate leadership and ethics. The natural conclusion here is further questioning of the neoconservative agenda. For our individual charts, Jupiter in Libra is generally beneficial, although how much depends upon your rising sign. For example, for my Libra rising sign, Jupiter will move out of the twelfth house of loss into the first house, bringing abundance. For Scorpio rising, Jupiter will move out of the eleventh house of gains into the twelfth house, limiting losses. One area of concern for this Mars/Jupiter combination for everyone is spending too much money. So, if October begins on a high note, avoid impulsive expenses.
August 8 The August 6 e-mail message I sent you advised I would contact four intuitives about the upcoming sensitive dates of tomorrow and Wednesday (August 9,10) as well as mid June 2006. These dates may be linked somehow because Scottie Littlestar recently picked up information about an imminent California earthquake. (Months ago, Scottie and I talked about having seen this for next summer.) Scottie referenced this earthquake article http://www.standeyo.com/Reports/041222.EQ.warning/050804.Deyo.EQs.html Note I have predicted, a religious-inspired catastrophe July 7 (the April 2 In-depth Forecast #62 A Not So Far Horizon). This was followed by the June 5 In-Depth Forecast, #63 Mars' Summer & Fall Of Discontent, which stated, We can understand now how the winter/spring setbacks set the stage for a July 7 event, triggering an economic downturn during Mars' July -- February transit through Aries. It appears that tomorrow and Wednesday may bring a destructive world event(s) triggering this economic downturn -- which would actualize in the real estate bubble bursting. Note that: (1) the U.S. embassy and consulates in Saudi Arabia are closed today and tomorrow due to terrorist threats, (2) oil hit $64 per barrel today, (3) Iran and Iraq have both broken off talks on their nuclear programs. And, of course, there's the Iraq insurgency and discord in Israel as well. Below are the replies by two intuitives. I've paraphrased some of the information for readability.
My telephone service has been restored, but the website inaccessibility issue remains. Here's a brief Celestial Wheel crafted on my e-mail program. When the website access is regained, I'll transcribe all forecasting done during the outage to your private website pages. Mercury's retrograde brings confusion, and since it is combust (burnt) the Sun, mental intensity is boosted to the point of being blinding. This Mercury makes it hard to listen to others, while Mars/Saturn gives energy and blockages. So, be gentle, kind and patient with yourself, and understand you may have to push hard in your worldly endeavors, though you should do so with discretion. Fight only the battles you can win and need to win.
There's simply too much stress and conflict in our individual lives. If you do push too hard, you may experience loss, instead of gain. On a world basis, expect turmoil and violence to hit a peak on Tuesday. Wednesday will scarcely be better. Keep in mind that the Mideast is nearly 1/2 day ahead of Eastern Daylight Time, and that the media reports what happened there yesterday. Here's a very quick peek at some charts of leaders and nations. G.W. Bush hides out in Texas (running a minor cycle of Sun in the 12th of seclusion) and deluded by Jupiter into believing his own lies while enemies gather. Dick Cheney has hidden cardiac issues that can actualize August 9. Certainly by Thanksgiving, he will suffer a cardiac attack. United States continues in the embrace of religious-inspired paranoid mysticism. Iraq is all about emotionally driven violence. Enemies are everywhere. Saudi Arabia may have succession problems, and religious-inspired mayhem will only increase.
