Mars' Summer And Fall Of Discontent

Introduction
The new year ushered in the fourth Forecast series, The Journey To Regain Liberty Continues (Forecast Archives). Year-to-date, four In-depth Forecasts have been published. The (now) twice-weekly Celestial Wheel added detail and commentary.

In reviewing this forecasting, three fairly distinct chronological intervals emerge: A. Gathering global and domestic winter/spring challenges from January through early June are described in the first three Forecasts. B. The fourth Forecast predicted an event harming real estate at the July 7 Mars/Rahu conjunction . C. Mars' destructive six month transit through Aries from July 21 to February 5 was summarized in the May 5 Celestial Wheel. That is the topic of this Forecast.

Using a weather analogy, the first interval is a gathering storm, the second is the storm's actual impact and the third the resulting consequences.

A. Gathering Global And Domestic Challenges

This winter/spring interval was described in the first three In-depth Forecasts.

First, the January 4 Forecast, #59 Winter/Spring Shifts Of The Major Planets identified and described, ..another interval of karmic intensity with shifts of the major planets -- Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu, plus ... a Mercury retrograde, smack in the middle of these shifting planetary heavyweights. From January through early June, Jupiter and Saturn retrograded, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu changed signs and aforementioned Mercury retrograde occurred. This Forecast used charts of World Transits, the United States, G.W. Bush and Iraq. It predicted a slowing of world economic growth beginning in February and resistance in the U.S. to Bush's audacious neoconservative agenda. For Iraq, this Forecast suggest a pitting of ...groups against each other. If the election does occur, it will only further polarize Iraqi groups, both against each other and against the U.S.

Second, the February 6 Forecast, #60 The First Babyboomers, seemingly sidetracked in identifying people born between June 28, 1946 and December 14, 1947 as a uniquely dominant group. However, these people, by ...applying their charismatic creativity in an unconstrained, even brutal, pursuit of success, have both garnered high positions (in the private and public sectors) and amplified the power of their leadership. Just considering Bill and Hillary Clinton, George and Laura Bush, Donald Trump and Tom Delay, we can understand the power inherent with these folks. They have been, and will continue to be, principal players in this, America's second Gilded Age (See The United States Through It's Planetary Cycles, Part 1 and Part 2).

The last Forecast covering winter/spring 2005 is the February 21st, #61 Kama & Kendra -- Desire & Power. Again, charts of World Transits, the United States, G.W. Bush and Iraq were applied. Concern was expressed globally about government debts, currency fluctuations and jobs. These were echoed for the U.S. It was further predicted for the U.S. that overtures to allies will be politely rebuffed, and Iraq will push the U.S. away. The crux of this Forecast was G.W. Bush's chart, seen to suffer from an excess of Kama (desire) over Karma (power). His Kama served to, amplify further Bush's messianic nature, his personality driven desire to change the world, but Bush does not now possess the Kendra (power) needed to impose his vision of expanding democracy upon the world, nor to force his domestic neoconservative self-proclaimed voter mandate. In regard to Iraq's chart, the Forecast stated that the coming weeks, will see the U.S. both failing to control the insurgency and being unable to work with the new Iraqi leadership. This Forecast concluded with,

The prediction here is for the impending U.S. failures in Iraq to sufficiently harm Bush's reputation that he will be unable to advance his international democracy crusade and fail in forcing Congress to pass his neo-conservative agenda. The resistance Bush is already experiencing in his major agenda items -- the 2006 budget, Social Security privatization and guest worker program for illegal aliens -- will only grow as he, Rice and Rumsfeld fail in Iraq. Thus, Bush will be effectively hobbled and thereby less capable of harm. However, he may become more dangerous for impetuous and foolish use of his presidential power.

B. Mars/Rahu July 7 Conjunction

The last In-depth Forecast, the April 2 #62 A Not So Far Horizon, discussed Mars' upcoming July 7, 2005 conjunction with toxic Rahu -- the head-of-the-dragon eclipse point. Below is that Forecast's description of those planetary dispositions, along with the World Transit chart for that day at 10 AM EDT as a visual aid.

On July 7, Mars will have moved into Pisces to be conjunct Rahu, a combination of excessive religious desire and violence. Opposite Mars/Rahu will be Jupiter/Ketu, the doubled-up religious influence.

These planets all aspect each other, and as Mars' projective energy catalyzes events, a religious-inspired catastrophe could occur at that time. Restrictive Saturn's position in the fourth house (Cancer) suggests real estate would be harmed.

... Note that this configuration is similar to 9-11, when Mars was conjunct Ketu in Sagittarius, and Jupiter was conjunct Rahu in Gemini.

World Transits July 7, 2005

This dissonant energy accumulated further starting June 3, when Mars transited into Pisces, launching its militant march against Rahu. With the Bush administration's growing setbacks at home and abroad since January, together with its unsustainable fiscal policies, this Mars transit through Pisces must fuel government distrust and stimulate economic instability. Whether it's farming or politics, you reap what you sow.

It is against this backdrop that the prediction was made for a religious-inspired catastrophe when Mars conjoins with Rahu July 7 -- a storm triggering an economic climate change.

While it's likely the real estate bubble, which has been the U.S. economy's main growth engine, will burst then, events at home or abroad could precipitate an earlier or later reversal. Further, the nature of the event is as yet unknown, but some likely culprits are oil, the dollar, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, scandal and terrorism. Whatever occurs, the event promises to have far-reaching and long term impacts.

This Forecast concluded with,

The upcoming July 7 Mars/Rahu conjunction... occurs in Pisces ...spiritual houses for all three charts: twelfth house of enlightenment for the World Chart, the fourth house of devotion for the United States and the eighth house of mysticism for Iraq. The implication here is that religion will clash with materialism.

Much more analysis can (and will) be done on this topic, most especially consideration of the June, 2004 In-depth Forecast series on the Mideast, The Timeless Mideast Bottleneck. I concluded that analysis by stating, In summary, there's a convergence of karmas in these four key Mideast countries occurring now that will transform the Mideast. The question is, will the area further disintegrate into chaos or rescue itself? The time period here is the eighteen month period when Rahu and Ketu transit through Pisces and Virgo -- February 2005 to November 2006. This Forecast suggests that transformation has already begun and may be propelled ahead with a major event July 7.

This Forecast considered the World Transit Chart, as well as charts for the U.S. Iraq, etc.

Three days later, the April 5 Celestial Wheel compared G.W. Bush's chart with the transiting planets for July 7, noting the weirdness that, five planets -- Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury and Venus -- are all returning in early July. ( Return in astrology means that a planet in today's sky crosses a birth chart planet.) Compare the above World Transit chart with Bush's chart, below, to see these match ups. The April 5 Celestial Wheel described this alignment:

It is most unusual, even amazing, that Bush would have five planets in return, which doubles their influence. And, waiting a few days more, until July 12, the transit Moon will return as well -- bringing the total to six. The only planets not returning will be Mars, Rahu and Ketu, and these indicate a transformational event.

The only conclusion I can draw at this time is that this configuration suggests for Bush a rebirth of some sort. This could take many forms -- illness, bodily harm, downfall, failure or even renewed religious fervor. Another possibility is his father being harmed then. In astrology, repetition of influences (called confluence) strengthens the karma. So finding this great oddity in Bush's chart, which signifies some sort of transformation for him, gives confluence to the prediction for great change initiated in early July.

G.W. Bush

Bush's birthday is July 6. That Bush's chart is so dynamic at that time suggests he will be part of, or influenced by, the Mars/Rahu inspired event -- which could occur anywhere on the globe. Further inquiry into this fascinating topic will be published in future forecasting.

Considering the dangerous quality of the Mars/Rahu conjunction, staying close to home during the first ten days of July is recommended. Also, any pending real estate transactions should be completed by the end of June.

C. Mars' Summer And Fall Of Discontent

This Forecast section holds new predictions.

Regardless of what does or does not happen at the early July Mars/Rahu conjunction, more powerful and enduring planetary karmas will occur during Mars next sign transit, through Aries. This was identified and described in the May 5 Celestial Wheel,

Following the July 7 Mars/Rahu disruption, Mars will lurch into Aries July 21, where a retrograde will keep it there until February 5, 2006 -- a long, and thereby destructive six month stay in one sign. Although this is unusual, it did occur during Mars' last retrograde, from June 6 to December 3, 2003 in Aquarius. For both instances, Mars is connected to Saturn. The May 28, 2003 In-depth Forecast, #16 Summer 2003 Major Transits and the August 6, 2003 In-depth Forecast, #23 Mars Summer Subtlety It's For The Planets? discuss that Mars transit -- when the Iraq insurgency began to undue the invasion's initial success.

Mars rules the sign of Aries, making it vibrant, excited, adventuresome and aggressive. It signifies landed property. Mars throws an aspect four houses away to Cancer. This is a difficult Mars aspect, for being to its fallen (weak) sign of Cancer, symbolizing the home.

Saturn, the planet of restriction, is transiting Cancer for the next couple of years. It specifically signifies real estate dealers. This is an enemy sign for Saturn, which brings out its lower qualities of poverty and loss. Saturn throws an aspect ten houses away to Aries. Again this is a difficult aspect for its being to Saturn's fallen sign of Aries.

These planets are very difficult when they join, for active Mars' opposes lethargic Saturn. Saturn thereby chafes under Mars' prodding.

Similarly, Saturn constrains Mars' rashness to push ahead.

The comparison can be made to driving your car with one foot on the accelerator and the other on the brake. This gives a rough journey and abuses the car.

Mars/Saturn combining in Aries stimulates warfare and physical cruelty. Selfishness and jealousy drive oppression in which the ends justify the means.

World Transits July 30, 2005

Mars typically transits a sign in two months. The six month period of this Saturn-conflicted Mars transit (July 21, 2005 to February 5, 2006) literally triples Mars' ability to harm.

We can understand now how the winter/spring setbacks set the stage for a July 7 event, triggering an economic downturn during Mars' July -- February transit through Aries. In Cancer, all three signficators of real estate are brought together in a destructive combination depressing real estate. Litigations are indicated.

As seen in the above chart, July 30 is a sensitive date, for then Mars and Saturn will be almost exactly aspecting each other at 7 degrees. However, because Mars will be retrograde from October 2 to December 4, these two planets will come into exact aspect two more times in the early winter. So, expect some spikes during this Mars transit, which won't be over until it's over February 5.
