A Look Back And A Glance Ahead

About Predictions
Astrologers anticipate the future of public issues (mundane astrology) through the dispositions of the planets and stars (constellations, or signs) plus the Vedic charts of nations and leaders.  This is all done with the element of time.  That's why Indians call their astrologers
Travelers in time.  As inspiration comes to the prepared mind, what we see results from careful analysis and insight often coming unbidden.  Further, insight topics result for all kinds of reasons, one being location.

Here's a weather example.  In Sedona, AZ, I was concerned enough about drought in 2010 to leave on my scooter for the East Coast.  Now in Florida, hurricanes are a major predictive focus.  It seems the energies of the location draw the attention.

Too, there are different types of predictions.  Some are for specific events, minor, or major, and others are for societal trends.  A minor event would be Mercury ending retrograde, dispelling confusions.  A major event would be Hurricane Iran.  COVID is a societal trend affecting everyone, everywhere in all endeavors.

Often, a prediction is refined by later analysis.  We follow ongoing planetary movements, and note current and emerging conditions and see repetitions from past situations  These are reasons predictions become more specific over time -- in often several Celestial Wheel entries.  But note, all prediction work must be made in advance.  There is no such thing as hindsight predictions.  Saying, Well, I could have seen that in XXX planet in XXX chart, is not a prediction but rather a rationalization for failing to make a prediction.  It's best to file away the planetary condition for that prediction and use it when the situation repeats itself.  That's one reason the Indians say it
takes about fifteen years to be adept at Vedic Astrology.

For 2022, two major predictions emerged and have been proven out.  First was the 2022 hurricane season, a
major event.-Second was the societal prediction for the end of the Trump Cult.  Below are the predictions from published Celestial Wheel entries.

Hurricane Predictions
This set of predictions was comprehensive -- extending from a busy early season, to a lull in August and September and finally to a late season hurricane that could be major.  (Remember, following this, I bought a generator in June, which got us through six days of power loss.)

May 29 Stresses Building Up  ...Mars will attack Rahu in Aries June 26 until the end of July.  Hurricanes and fires have been predicted...

July 7 COVID Ramifications
...expect hurricanes and other flooding during the last half of July.

August 6 Mars Finishing In Aries  ...the absence of hurricanes early this hurricane season sets the stage for later summer/fall hurricanes to be more powerful.

August 14 Transit Lull  That doesn't mean disasters -- heat, fires, flooding, drought, hurricanes... -- won't occur this summer through mid fall.   It just means Mars isn't signaling major or tumultuous ones for the next few months.

August 30 The U.S. Through The Fall  Late season hurricanes should be expected. (Hurricane Ian struck at the end of September, and Hurricane Nicole hit the second week in November.)

September 10 Taking Stock   ...while there have been no named storms in July and August -- the first time in 82 years -- and this month hurricanes Danielle and Kate have harmlessly spun away into the north Atlantic -- risk continues.

Trump Cult Falls
January 1, 2022 Starry Starry Nights  Taking all these factors together, it looks like Monday March 28 will be see the weakened Trump's wall of lies topped with crimes come tumbling down -- not unlike his Mexican border wall.  March 28, Trump likely committed felony obstruction, federal judge rules
(This was the first federal judiciary decision casting blame on Trump.  It was the crack in the dam that later let the flood of truth through.)

September 23 Trump Through The Fall  Mars will enter the next sign, Gemini, October 17, turn retrograde October 30, re-enter Taurus November 13 and return to forward motion mid January.  ...Mars will be attacking his Rahu and Sun (self) during the calendar months of October and November.  ...The Celestial Wheel has long posited that Trump destroys both political parties and then blows himself up.  ...These Mars combination haymakers on Trump's Rahu and Sun will mortally injure him.  ...we should also look ahead further for when Mars turns forward again January 13 and runs over his Rahu and Sun for a third time -- Rahu March 6 and the Sun March 12.  This sure looks like road kill to me.

October 22 One More Calamity  ...certainly the total lunar eclipse November 8 at 22 degrees Aries will be momentous.  That is, after all, election day.

November 13 Normal Again  ...yes, the dramas will continue for some time, but the election is over, and nobody has to play with cult leader Trump any longer.

A Glance Ahead
The December 16 Agitated   ..
.slow Saturn withholds its greatest harms until the very end of a transit. The exact date is January 17.  There's just a month left in this difficult transit, which interval will see escalating Saturnian losses, suffering and, chronic illness and deathsVirus infections have been increasing.  Beyond Pope Benedict and Barbara Walters, there have been plenty of other passings.  Expect more.  As form and structure Saturn is leaving earth sign Capricorn, the recent flurry of earth crust events --earthquakes and volcanoes -- will continue.

December 16 Agitated  Certainly the U.S.'s strong economy is not sustainable.  It's been 13 years since the Millennium Contraction (Great Recession).  Since then the economy has been buoyed up by incredibly low interest rates and massive deficits, while it's been tortured by Trump and COVID.  So, set some dollars away to protect yourself and help others.

Winter storms, already significant, will likely continue.  This is great for the drought stricken West and Midwest (Mississippi), while also bringing suffering in the South and East of the country.

In just a day, the Moon will occult Mars again, stirring up emotions and bold actions.  When the first martian eclipse hit December 7,  China finally loosened its COVID restrictions.  Millions are sick now.

Remember To Look Up Tonight

The December 4 Another Celestial Delight explained that the Moon would occult (cross) Mars December 7.  This truly rare event, which is actually a
Martian eclipse, turned out to be very cool but not really dramatic.  Then, the same astrology longitude and exact astronomy latitude for both planets caused the Moon to swallow up Mars.

Also mentioned was there will be two more dramatic Moon crossings of Mars -- January 3 and 30.  These are not exact occultations in the U.S as to both latitude and longitude, but still very close.  This is called an
appulse.  It promises to be more visually stimulating as the Moon is right by Mars.  Last night we could see the Moon approaching Mars.  I saw it in a clear sky -- nice.  Here's an image,

As of this writing, the Moon and Mars are together, the appulse.  By this evening, the Moon will be separating from Mars.  And, as the night progresses, we'll be able to see this gap opening.  So, the earlier you look up after sunset, the closer these two bright planets will be.  And the later you look, the further apart they will appear.  I don't know what has happened or will occur.  I just know something of merit will result.

Remember, the January 2 A Look Back And A Glance Ahead  closed with,
In just a day, the Moon will occult Mars again, stirring up emotions and bold actions.  When the first martian eclipse hit December 7,  China finally loosened its COVID restrictions.  Millions are sick now.

PS  As the Moon approached Mars earlier today, the big news is that U.S. house is struggling and failing to elect a new Speaker of the House.  This may not be resolved soon.  And there could be other dramatic Moon/Mars events

Mercury Retrograde

With all the holiday hullabaloo and attempts to get current on Celestial Wheels, I completely missed that Mercury went retrograde December 29, 2022 and will turn forward in three weeks January 18, 2023.  Too, it took me a week to write the January 2 A Look Back And A Glance Ahead.  I was so immersed in that task, due in part to Mercury being retrograde, I didn't see that in the transit wheel of my astrology program!

There's a certain irony here, for as the January 2 A Look Back And A Glance Ahead
stated, ...there are different types of predictions.  Some are for specific events, minor or major, and others re tor societal trends.  A minor event would be Mercury ending retrograde, dispelling confusions.

This is not a challenging Mercury retrograde for being entirely in Libra, though a mean aspect from Mars stresses Mercury's nervous system and stimulates lying.  Mercury/Mars is the combination for thieves, liars, lawyers and politicians.  And we certainly have a lot of those characters spinning tails these days!  The House of Representatives can't even elect a Speaker.

This added planetary dissonance doesn't do much to change the planetary energies, nor the initial 2023 Glance Ahead predictions. Except that if there is a challenge, it's very difficult to both comprehend the challenge and devise actions to resolve it.  So, take it easy on mental gymnastics and tend to your regular routine.

Tilt-A-Whirl

Remember the old Tilt-A-Whirl at amusement parks, fairs and carnivals?  They've been around since 1926 and are still being used and produced.  It's certainly unique that a carnival ride your great grandfather rode and it thrills your children today.

Wikipedia explains,

...seven freely-spinning cars that hold three or four riders each, which are attached at fixed pivot points on a rotating platform.  As the platform rotates, parts of the platform are raised and lowered, with the resulting centrifugal and gravitational forces on the revolving cars causing them to spin in different directions and at variable speeds.  The weight of passengers in these cars (as well as the weight distribution) may intensify or dampen the spinning motion of the cars, adding to the unpredictable nature known as chaotic motion.

Tilt-A-Whirl is the closest I could come to an analogy for the current and emerging planetary dispositions.  Although these are not linked to each other, there remains a cumulative effect.  Here's what's going on.

Mars is ending a challenging two and a half month retrograde in just three days -- January 13.  This is jittery because Mars is the planet of violence, wars, discords and infections.  Also, his forward motion signals Mars making it's last of three crossings over Trump's Sun and Rahu, his tremendous career planets.  Mars hits these March 6 and then March 12.  The Celestial Wheel has termed this roadkill.

Saturn is crawling forward to finally leave Capricorn January 17.  Saturn first entered Capricorn January 24, 2020.  That's nearly three years, and during that interval, Saturn stored up a tremendous amount of karma to be finally released now.  The January 2  A Look Back And A Glance Ahead, stated,  ...
escalating Saturnian losses, suffering and, chronic illness and deaths.  Virus infections have been increasing.  Beyond Pope Benedict and Barbara Walters, there have been plenty of other passings.  Expect more.  As "form and structure" Saturn is leaving earth sign Capricorn, the recent flurry of earth crust events --earthquakes and volcanoes -- will continue.

Mercury's current three week retrograde ends January 18.  Until this is over, understand that communications activities are all hobbled.

So, Mars ends retrograde January 13, Saturn finishes in Capricorn January 17 and Mercury ends its retrograde January 18 -- backward, forward, up and down -- like a Tilt-A-Wheel!  While these are all secondary karma transits, they definitely impact.  Look for real weirdness in the news, and try to keep your life organized.  This is definitely not a good time for new ventures.

Martian eclipses also figure into this interval.  Remember from the December 4 Another Celestial Delight that the Moon first occulted (eclipsed Mars December 7.  The Moon occulted Mars again on January 3.  The Moon will occult Mars a last time January 30, which Martian Eclipse will be fully visible here.

The December 7 Martian eclipse saw China end its stringent COVID restrictions.  That is a big deal.  This today Washington Post article explains the consequences of that, which continue, Satellite images show crowds at China's crematoriums as Covid Surges.

The January 3 Martian eclipse coincides exactly with the Republican majority in the House tied in knots for four days selecting a Speaker.  This too will have longer term ramifications.

Consider how these two Martian eclipses that have brought major health problems in China and major political instability in the U.S. -- and that Mars', Saturn's and Mercury's impactive dispositions this month operate within that realm.

The Moon actually crosses Mars every lunar cycle, which begs the question as to why these first two Martian eclipses have been so potent in exact timing events.  The answer seems to lie in these Martian eclipses being exactly that -- the Moon and Mars at the same latitude and longitude -- coordinates -- for each.  Mars retrograde could also stimulate powerfully malefic energies with these eclipses, but certainly this must be secondary.

So, let's see what happens over the next several days as Mars, Saturn and Mercury throw a few punches and then the January 30 Martian eclipse occurs.

January 11

From yesterday's Tilt-A-Whirl entry,

"So, Mars ends retrograde January 13, Saturn finishes in Capricorn January 17 and Mercury ends its retrograde January 18 -- backward, forward, up and down -- like a Tilt-A-Wheel!  While these are all secondary karma transits, they definitely impact.  Look for real weirdness in the news, and try to keep your life organized.  This is definitely not a good time for new ventures."

Here's a Tilt-A-Whirl example,

Joe Biden's Denouement

Denouement
in dictionaries give denotations of culmination, finale, last act...  The word is French, and the sound brings connotations of something slipping away a gradual decline to a sad ending.  Denouement is a twilight, when the light slowly fades into the oblivion of the full dark night.  It's a gentle sliding away.  It's sailing into the sunset.

This is what's happening with Joe Biden, but first, let's catch up with his Vedic chart.

I was never satisfied with the 8:30 AM birth time everyone uses for several reasons.  Primary is that this gives a first house of the self in Scorpio, ruled by Mars.  Biden does not have a Mars temperament, physical body, overall looks.....  But, when you back up his birth time by an hour, the first house becomes Venus ruled Libra.  Although he can be tough, Biden is not a Mars warrior but a kind Venus lover.  And that toughness comes through Mars placed in his first house.  (This analysis was first undertaken in the October 18, 2021entry. The Biden information is  toward the end.)

I always viewed Biden's presidency as a caretaker government.  After all, he came in to first get the COVID vaccines out to the public and stimulate the economy with major spending.  Plus, he did spending programs for neglected areas -- green energy, semiconductors, climate change.... that future administrations can build upon.  And he's handled the Ukraine war admirably -- America leading NATO again.  I don't believe he'll actually run for a second term.  Below is the Libra Ascendant (AS) chart with its attendant Dasas (planetary cycles).

Joe Biden
November 20, 1942 7:29 AM Scranton, PA

Biden Dasas

Rahu Dasa -- lots of opportunities and gains, for it's very well placed in the eleventh house of gains.  But head-of-the- dragon eclipse point Rahu also brought downs too.

Jupiter Dasa -- Biden's Jupiter is exalted in the tenth house of career.  It quickly brought him the Vice presidency.  Then in 2020, with just a few years of Jupiter Dasa left, he won the presidency.  Jupiter is the great benefic and the planet of expansion.

Saturn -- the planet of restriction -- signals the end good fortune for Joe Biden.  And now that we have a pretty good birth time, which determines when the Dasa planets run -- we can see in the above table that this began at the first of the year.   It's also negative for lots of other things in his life.  Since then, the classified documents scandal has emerged, and Jill Biden had two cancerous tumors removed January 9.  These are Saturn karmas in less than two weeks into Saturn Dasa!

That's why I felt he's a one term president.  But I feel he'll take the challenges well.

Off The Tilt-A-Whirl

The (above) January 10 Tilt-A-Whirl explained the recently ended disorientation resulting from three planets in unfavorable dispositions,

Transits January 19, 2023

If you're still feeling disoriented, and with that, distress, it's because after getting off the Tilt-A-Whirl, your body continues to move with the ride's motion.  Similarly, when you get off a boat after a long ride, you walk like a drunken sailor for a while.  That's the wobbly and  unsteady gait on land resulting from your muscle memory still moving with the boat's motion through the seas.

This doesn't mean All's Well, for the world remains stressed.  What is does mean is that as you regain your balance, you can move ahead in life with the surety and confidence needed.

Third And Final Martian Eclipse

As previously explained, the third and final Martian eclipse is coming up Monday, January 30.

To fresh your memory, the December 4 Another Celestial Delight is an in depth analysis.

Here are updates January 3 Remember To Look Up Tonight and January 10 Tilt-A-Whirl.

In-The-Sky.org has a current easily readable article on this latest Martian eclipse, Lunar Occulation of Mars.

Note:  the location will be 15:55 Taurus.  If you have any planets within 2 degrees of this point, that planet will be eclipsed -- blocked.  Like the two previous Martian eclipses, this last on January 30 does not hit any planets in the charts for the U.S. and Trump.  But it does hit Biden, chart with his loss-causing Saturn at 16:53 Taurus.

The January 10 Tilt-A-Whirl update clearly explains this unusual phenomena.  Included is this viewing map for the total occultation -- eclipse,

That entry also explained consequences of the first two Martian eclipses,

The December 7 Martian eclipse saw China end its stringent COVID restrictions. (government)  That is a big deal.

We can conclude,

For the December 7, 2022 Martian eclipse, the Moon was powerfully full.  Mars was weakly retrograde.

For the January 3, 2023 event, the Moon was again powerful by waxing at 90% full.  Mars remained weakly retrograde.

This coming January 30 Martian eclipse, will see the Moon again be waxing at a still 74% brightness.  Mars, having turned forward January 12, naturally remained forward, which restored his strength.

These lunar phases are included to show how bright, (powerful) the Moon is during these 3 eclipses of Mars -- and also whether Mars is retrograde weak or forward strong.  With these dispositions in mind, consider the major events of China ending its COVID lockdown December 27 and the U.S. House unable to elect a speaker at the second occultation January 3.
How potent will the upcoming January 30 Martian eclipse be?

The Moon will still be waxing and pretty bright at 74%.  So, she's still potent but not as strong as in the previous 2 occultations.  On the other hand, with Mars regaining his strength by forward motion, he is more able to resist the Moon eclipsing him.  So, this last Martian Eclipse will be less traumatic than the 2 previous ones.  That is, a major event with a national impact will be less serious, but still meaningful.

In this regard, although as stated above, this Martian eclipse doesn't hit the U.S. chart or Trump's, it slams Biden.  The January 13 Joe Biden's Denouement concluded Biden ended his great expansionary Jupiter planetary cycle (Dasa) in his 10th house of career -- about January 1.  Restrictive Saturn's Dasa in his 8th house of catastrophe thereby began at New Years.  Running Saturn Dasa during this third Martian eclipse hitting his Saturn, this event brings extremely destructive karma.

It's naturally a challenge to predict what may occur with Biden, but note that Saturn rules his fifth house of children.  One son died and the other, Hunter, has major troubles.  So, Hunter could suffer from legal issues.  Alternatively, Biden could become ill since Saturn aspects Venus, the ruler of his first house of the self.  He had two aneurysms in early 1988 --during his Mars Dasa.  Then, transit Mars was conjoining transit Saturn.  So we can see Mars with Saturn in Biden's chart harms health.

You can view the January 30 Martian eclipse event Monday evening about midnight.  However, watch earlier that evening to see the Moon approaching Mars.  Also, although the Martian eclipse will not be visible in northern parts of the U.S., the Moon will be very close when it crosses Mars.  So, there's great viewing throughout the country.
