Kaboom! Sh-Boom
The last Celestial Wheel entry discussing the Mars/Keu conjunction was the September 21 Mars Closing In On Ketu,
The (summer/fall) timeline graphic shows the final major transit event for May through September is Mars cross Ketu 9/20+. Note again this is the third and final time Mars crosses Ketu. That results from Mars doing a two month retrograde. As repetition is integral to Vedic Astrology, this third Mars strike with Ketu peaks the energy. A date range is given because Mars attacks when he gets close to another planet -- not at the exact conjunction. The Celestial Wheel has used the term acute to describe this interval.
This transit chart -- where the planets are in today's skies -- shows Mars is now within two degrees of Ketu. That is why the energy is acute and growing stronger. They will be conjunct September 25 -- a few more days of building turmoil. And then Mars has to get at least two degrees beyond Ketu before they stop beating each other up -- month's end. |
Not much of merit happened September 25, excepting Bill Cosby was sentenced to prison and the U.N. General Assembly laughed at Trump exaggerating his achievements.
Yet, the world hasn't calmed. Considering the below predictions made in late May, two main categories emerge -- hurricanes and scandals.
General Global
Those have come true in spades. However, the statement, Mars has to get at least two degrees beyond Ketu before they stop beating each other up -- month's end is optimistic --wishful thinking. Not only have hurricanes raged all over the globe, and are still developing, but major earthquakes confirm violence in the natural realm. Haiti got hit just yesterday with a 5.9 quake.
These natural disasters are expressing the continuing high level destructive karma of the Mars/Ketu conjunction -- with Mars' aspect to Rahu. We should thereby expect the same in human affairs.
Below is the transit chart for today. You can see Mars is almost six degrees away from Ketu -- and thereby Rahu. It seems the now 5 months Mars and Ketu have been intertwined is more important than their current distance from each other. So, expect turmoil to continue until Mars finally leaves Capricorn November 6 -- election day. Note -- with that energy shift, many election results will be surprising.
The Republicans ramming Brett Kavanaugh into the Supreme Court may seem like a huge deal, for it truly is. But it's not the only turmoil in human affairs, and even that issue may not be over -- or at least it will send shock waves through election day. The September 21 entry also stated,
It looks like Kavanaugh is like the snake crossing the highway -- road kill. And because Republicans can taste the victory in their forty year quest to take over the Supreme Court, they, including Trump, can become road kill in the upcoming election.

Expect then lots more kabooms during the next month. The first part of today's title Kaboom Sh-Boom thereby relates. But what about the Sh-Boom? This is the very old The Coasters song Sh Boom Life Could Be A Dream. We can take this two ways -- that all this horrific stuff can't be real and must be a dream, or that out of the ashes of these destructions comes a better world. |

Destructive Mars in Capricorn with Ketu has been dogging the country and the globe for now 5 1/2 months. We're in the home stretch now with this storm of karma that began May 3 and will end November 6. But that's little solace, for it ain't over til it's over!
The latest upsets are Hurricane Michael and the stock markets being hit hard this week. However, the latter seems to be a fear-based reaction to short term planetary karmas -- rather than securities markets falling off a cliff.
Here's an updated summer/fall timeline, followed by a transit chart for today.
World Transits October 12, 2018
The month of October has been added. You can see (top right) that Jupiter, the planet of luck and wealth, transited from Libra to Scorpio October 11. This shift brought edge-of-sign weakness in general. For the U.S. chart, Jupiter left Libra's eleventh house of gains to enter Scorpio's twelfth house of loss.
So, Jupiter couldn't hold back Hurricane Michael, and the stock markets tanked this week.
Notice too Venus, turned weakly retrograde October 4, disabling it's protective ability as well.
The key confirming karma to Jupiter's weakness, though, is destructive Mars on the U.S. chart's Ketu (tail-of-the-dragon eclipse point) in Capricorn. That sign is the second house of income. Also, Mars is another wealth planet in the U.S. chart for ruling the fifth house of investments. That explains the stock markets meltdown. Fiery Ketu's influence on brave Mars threw him into fear -- and he panicked Wednesday and yesterday.
As for Hurricane Michael, Mars aspecting Rahu is vengeful rage in watery Cancer brought that storm.
Today, though, the weather and financial skies have cleared. This doesn't mean the economy is not at risk down the line, nor that natural disasters have stopped. It just means we can take a short breather. With the weekend here, do that. These topics will be covered in the next Celestial Wheel entry. |

The May 3 to November 6 conjunction of fiery Mars and fiery Ketu in Capricorn combination for seething anger has been expressed in many different ways. What's key, of course, is the accumulation of that karma will be finally expressed in the all-important U.S. midterm elections the exact day the conjunction ends! This cannot be a coincidence. It is truly fate.
As this turbulent interval is thankfully and finally coming toward its end, we can see how Celestial Wheel predictions published June 8 for the globe, the U.S. and Trump have actualized. Most have done so and been understood as such.
However, U.S. public disgust, while obvious, has not been fitted into how folks will be motivated to vote November 6.
Here's a CNN article published today that has grasped this public disgust, The media shows a country split in half. This study says that's not the case.
Cable news depicts a divided country, with talking heads fighting from the left and right on deeply polarizing political issues. But according to a new study, the United States might not be as split as the media portrays.
More in Common, an initiative dedicated to understanding political polarization, recently released the results of their project called "The Hidden Tribes of America." They found that 67% of the country is what the organization calls the "Exhausted Majority," a group that is displeased by America's polarization and would like for people to find a common ground.
"There's a tremendous anxiety about the division and a sense with the majority of people that their voice isn't being heard," Tim Dixon, co-founder of More in Common, told Brian Stelter in the latest Reliable Sources podcast. "That it's these strident, hateful, often uncompromising us versus them voices" that are receiving attention.
Dixon cited the Brett Kavanaugh hearings as an example of the majority's distress. Their research found that 70% of people said they blame both the left and the right for the conflict over his nomination. |
The actual report, The Hidden Tribes of America, includes this further explantation,
We are experiencing these divisions in our workplaces, neighborhood groups, even our places of worship. In the media, pundits score points, mock opponents, and talk over each other. On the Internet, social media has become a hotbed of outrage, takedowns, and cruelty—often targeting total strangers.
But this can change. A majority of Americans, whom we’ve called the "Exhausted Majority," are fed up by America’s polarization. They know we have more in common than that which divides us: our belief in freedom, equality, and the pursuit of the American dream. They share a deep sense of gratitude that they are citizens of the United States. They want to move past our differences. |
The September 16 entry Cross Section also discussed that issue! During my 2010 cross country scooter trip I heard in Arkansas,
Beyond taking responsibility for his losses and vowing to recover, this fellow echoed a recurrent theme in this eight state trip -- We're all Americans. We're on the same team. and We hate the press. However, in Venice, Florida since 2011, a stronghold for aging heartland America, attitudes have changed,
The first few years were pretty uneventful. The economy was gradually recovering, but still, everyone had been hit by the 2008 Millennium Contraction, which brought some humility. As the years passed, and the economy improved, I noticed people hardening up -- being less tolerant and forgiving as greed returned. This is the Trump Effect.
I used my now smoothly presented ploy to draw them out, You know we're all Americans.. We're on the same side. Old union guys, and most from the Northeast U.S., agreed. Others, however, notably from the heartland and the South, very often replied, I don't think so. There are more racist Trump devotees around than anyone would guess.
But recently, I've sensed a different tone -- that folks truly are exhausted by all the hatefulness -- and when I mention the Big Bird Sesame Street song That's Cooperation, they smile. The title of today's Celestial Wheel entry thereby could be, America, a great heart or heartless?. It appears here in Florida that change is due to the ecological disaster of red tide drawing us together, contrasted by Trump's endlessly spewing his venom of hate and fear. Democracy requires both the love and courage that have always come forward in times of crisis. And this is truly a crisis.
We'll find out November 6, of course. But at this time it seems America's great heart, not Make America Great Again, will once again persevere. |

Countdown To November 6
Mars summer/fall six month transit through Capricorn has been eventful, and truly transformational.
Remember this ends November 6. As stated in the entry October 20 (Public Disgust), This cannot be a coincidence. It is truly fate. The summer/fall turmoils are truly a build up to this momentous test of democracy -- for karma is cumulative. Recall that entry concluded with,
We'll find out November 6, of course. But at this time it seems
America's great heart, not Make America Great Again, will once again persevere.
Here are two more quotes from recent Celestial Wheel entries,
The October 7 Kaboom! Sh-Boom stated,
These natural disasters are expressing the continuing high level destructive karma of the
Mars/Ketu conjunction -- with Mars' aspect to Rahu. We should thereby expect the same in human affairs.
The October 12 Catching Up entry cautioned,
We're in the home stretch now with this storm of karma that began May 3 and will
end November 6. But that's little solace, for it ain't over til it's over!
With soooooo mcuh going on, many have likely already forgotten Super Typhoon Yutu struck the Northern Mariana Islands on October 24 -- just four days ago! Of course, this natural disaster mirrors the destructive karma in human affairs -- as witnessed by the Saudi assassination of the journalist in Turkey and three major violences in the U.S. Remember that monster storm? How about the white man who shot and killed two African-Americans -- at a Kentucky Kroger store following a failed attempt to barge into a black church.? That's another October 24 disaster. You may be able to still recall the Magabomber mailing 14 bomb packages, and yesterday's Pittsburgh synagogue bombing killing 11.
The reason for all this destructive stuff is twofold. First, as stated above, karma is cumulative, which means it becomes stronger at the end of a planetary disposition. Second, this disposition is Mars finishing up in Capricorn, which means he's near the sign edge. There Mar is unstable -- amplifying this planet of storms' seething anger and vengeful rage caused by association with the eclipse points, Rahu and Ketu. Interestingly, these are not actual planets but calculated points for eclipses, which is why they are called shadow planets -- disturbing, and even frightening, the real planets.
Expect then the violences and upsets to keep coming right up to November 6. Some of the recent events may, on balance, hurt the Republicans -- for Trump advocating violence and hate inevitably brings Public Disgust. So don't relax. Don't try to plan ahead either, for these events are unanticipated and uncontrollable. Still, you can dodge this karma personally, and also minimize negative reactions to world events. Also, you can take care of yourself by eating well, resting, taking some time in nature and avoiding stressful situations.
Here's a world transit chart for November 6 at 9 AM, Washington, DC. You can see Mars has just left Capricorn, for Aquarius. This weak sign edge position turns the planet of courage into one of fear.
You can also easily see the Venus, the Moon and the Sun combination in Libra. Libra is owned by Venus and thus an excellent position for her, even retrograde. Venus and the Moon are the two female planets, bringing the feminine side forward -- encouraging voting by women, of course, and male compassion. The Sun,, however, is fallen (weak) in this sign, making this male planet of the self less confident. Yet a depressed Sun, however, is humble, not brazen. On balance, this three planet combination is favorable to compassionate caring, which supports voting for love, and against hate.
November 6 at 9 AM, Washington, DC
Mercury and Jupiter -- the lower mind and the higher mind -- naturally stimulates the intellect, which again is positive for voting.
In the U.S. chart, Libra is the eleventh house of goals and gains -- making the Venus, Moon, Sun combination motivated toward success. And as the Sun is government, voters desire a humanitarian one. Scorpio, however, where Jupiter and Mercury are placed, is the twelfth house of loss. That stimulates too much thinking and a perception of loss. (It's also negative for the stock market.) Sleep is disturbed. Also Mars in Aquarius is the U.S. chart's third house of desires -- stimulating him to be aggressive and abrasive -- but full of fears too. Still weak at the sign edge -- expect election mayhem -- at the polls, in close election tallies and disputes after November 6.
In sum, hold your hat. Stay calm. Vote and hope. It looks like Trump's word and actions, and consequent world events, have worn out his welcome.
