Mars Into Aquarius

The April 20 Further Predictions Proofing included a look ahead at Mars, the planet of action, into Aquarius May 4 and then Pisces June 18.

With May 4 coming up Monday, let's take another look at Mars in Aquarius to June 18.

First, here's the May 4 chart from the April 20 entry.  At first glance it looks benign.  There are no other planets in Aquarius for Mars to attack.  However, Mars does throw a nasty aspect (glance) four houses away to Taurus, where lovely Venus sits.   That creates passion in all things and also harms Venus' wealth signification.

May 4, 2020

But let's pause a moment.  Jupiter, the planet of wealth, has also been aspecting Venus for the past several weeks -- since Jupiter went into Aquarius at the end of March.  It appears it is this combination of two wealth planets that has driven the stock markets back up from their low March 23, recouping much of earlier spring losses.

And on Monday, as mentioned above, Mars begins aspecting Venus, harming wealth.  It is expected stocks will resume their jagged motion that dragged them down since late February -- when Mars collided with Ketu.

There are a few more negative planetary karmas that reinforce this negative stock market pressure -- as well as drag the economy further down as well and worsen virus infections.

To illustrate, below is the May 14 chart, also from the April 20 entry.  I've added arrows showing the aspects from Mars and Jupiter to Venus.

May 14

That chart was included to show that the big planets -- Saturn and Jupiter -- turn retrograde the month, on May 10 and 14 respectively.

Jupiter and Saturn are the big planets.  They protect and steer the solar system.  When both are retrograde, there's a loss of capability for positive action in the entire zodiac.  So, recovery from the virus, as well as economic rebuilding, will be hampered.  This continues through the summer into mid September.

Further, you can see the retrograde R also next to Venus.  The wind, then, is out of her sails as well.  And the Sun and Mercury have moved into Taurus where they too will be aspected by Mars.  As Mercury is the respiratory system, the Sun is the head/body and Mars is infections, the virus could rear up again then.  The peak interval here, when the Sun, Mercury and Venus are together in Taurus -- being fired upon by Mars -- is May 14 to May 24.  For the U.S. chart, Taurus is the sixth house of acute illness, which brings more sensitivity to the virus.

Too, the U.S. chart Moon is in Aquarius -- at 7:06 degrees.  Mars will cross her May 14 as well.  The Moon is a dangerous planet for this chart in ruling the eighth house of calamity.  (Note it was during the 10 year Moon Dasa -- planetary cycle --from November 1998 to 2008, that 9-11 2001 hit and the economy blew up in 2008.)  As it turns out the U.S. chart runs the Moon in a minor Dasa cycle April 25 to July 7.  Mars in Aquarius is thereby a double whammy on the Moon -- home, emotions, the benefits in life....

Overall then, transits this month -- for the globe -- are difficult for 3 planets being weakly retrograde and Mars afflicting 3 planets. And the U.S. chart is hit particularly hard for harms to the sixth house of acute illness and the all-important Moon attacked by Mars. We're not out of this virus attack yet -- nor economic losses.

Finally, as explained in the April 24 Predicting Virus U.S. Spreading, infections are sweeping out into Midwest and southern states. And those are where states are already loosening lockdown rules.

In closing, below is part of a note I sent to my 80 year old landlady -- out of concern that her family members, who are not social distancing nor wearing masks, would infect me.

As a nurse I'm sure you remember, as I do with my country doctor family upbringing, the recurring epidemics of childhood and adult diseases that continued until the 60s, when modern vaccines and antibiotics knocked those out -- temporarily as it turns out.  (In fact, my brother had a light case of polio.)  So this coronovirus is not unusual but rather a continuation of microbial epidemics that have always plagued humanity.  This seems to be a lesson many have forgotten, or just ignore, at their peril.

It's been amazing that this critical fact has not been stressed in the media.  If you're on Social Security, like me, you're old enough to remember these epidemics.  If not, then your parents lived through epidemics that were so common, they were woven into the fabric of society.

To nail this down, I'll share a childhood memory.  I was about 8 years old, riding in my father's big Buick to the local school, where there were flat playing fields.  It was a snowy/cold January, and the school had been shut down for a month with an outbreak of measles, mumps or something else.  Suddenly out of the sky came blinding light and a roaring whomp whomp whomp sound.   Then a monster appeared -- a huge U.S. Army helicopter.  As it landed, my father got out of his car, and in his heavy coat and hat, bent forward against the helicopter wash to meet an Army crew member half way carrying a small cardboard box.  It was medicines my father had run out of.  No, the vaccines hadn't been invented yet, nor antibiotics that could knock out respiratory infections, but the Army had brought medicines to ease symptoms.  I remember my father was grimly happy about this, for while patients would feel better, many wouldn't make it.

Another Heads-up For May 14

The Washington Post reported yesterday about a draft CDC report on upcoming virus infections and deaths.  Of course this was denied, The White House and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention disavowed the report, although the slides carry the CDC’s logo. Draft report predicts covid-19 cases will reach 200,000 a day by June 1

Here's the cogent, and kind of amazing part,

The document predicts a sharp increase in both cases and deaths beginning about May 14, according to a copy shared with The Washington Post.  The forecast stops at June 1, but shows both daily cases and deaths on an upward trajectory at that point.

The May 2 Mars Into Aquarius highlighted May 14 and included a chart for that day -- which chart was first published April 20.  May 14 was chosen because, while malefic Saturn goes retrograde May 10, benefic Jupiter also retrogrades just a few days later on May 14.  This takes away the power of these big planets to steer and protect the astronomical solar system, and hence signals weakness in the astrological zodiac as well.

May 14

Beyond these weaknesses, other ills were cited:

Venus is retrograde, weakening the great benefic as well.

Mars aspects the Sun, Mercury and Venus May 14 to 24.

Mars crosses the dangerous U.S. Moon May 14

Is May 14 repeated here coincidence in matching the CDC report's same date? Hmm-mm..... Perhaps there truly is order in the universe.

As an old Florida Vedic client sometimes quipped after reading a particularly scary Celestial Wheel about hurricanes, I'm going to hide under the bed.  To which I replied, Think about getting a water bed.

A Perfect Beach Day!

Here's a this-morning pic of Venice Beach, Floriida.  Clear blue skies, white sand, warm azure water, a gently breeze.....   Grandparents warm their bones, parents work on their tans, volleyballs fly through the air, children dig holes and find shell treasures.

It's truly a glorious May Sunday as America opens up to enjoy the first Sunday outside with family and friends.

Except, there's that nasty doctor Sanjay Gupta on CNN -- a suspiciously dark-skinned guy on fake news -- spewing out fear, Dr. Sanjay Gupta: If the United States were my patient.

...we have been forced to become host to a guest we never invited and would like to leave.

These novel viruses don't announce themselves, ring the doorbell or call ahead.  They just show up, using close friends and family members as Trojan horses.  So tiny -- just 20 to 400 nanometers in diameter.  A billion of them could fit on the head of a pin.

It is hard to believe something so tiny could so profoundly change the world, as this virus has done. Of course we want it to die.  We want to kill it.  Render it lifeless.  But that is impossible.  Why? Because this virus is not even alive.  It is just a string of RNA in a fatty envelope.  They are the zombies of the microbe world.  Without us -- the hosts -- the virus is nothing, lacking any ability to grow, thrive or reproduce.  It cannot even be cultured in a petri dish for scientific research.  It can only grow in living cells, like the ones our bodies provide in abundance.

The truth is this: Viruses are exquisite and crafty hijackers.  Once they enter a perfectly innocent human body and use its cells to replicate over and over again, the virus begins a steady march onward, catching a ride in your blood, your lymph nodes and your secretions.  It likes to travel, and fast, with no consideration to the path of destruction it leaves behind.

Okay, okay, that's enough rain on a perfect beach day, but then this Gupta guy throws out a killer line, There is collateral damage, and healthy bystanders will often be damaged and destroyed.  Rats!  That hot chick in the foreground, and the buff guy near the water, could infect me.

And here's a knotty question, Why do more men get infected than woman?  The answer here is another question, Why do women wear all the masks?

The April 20 Further Predictions Proofing took a look ahead through the summer.

The above May 5 Another Heads-up For May 14 noted The Celestial Wheel's concern about May 14 exactly matches CDC forecast for a virus infection uptick starting May 14.  Science validating astrology is obviously helpful.  Here again is that chart, first published April 20,

May 14

Considering Mars as the planet of action, infections and acute illness, he's in Aquarius May 14 to June 17.  Retrograde Jupiter and Saturn are impotent to protect, and infectious Mars shoots arrows at the Sun, Mercury and Venus.  The illness karmas for the virus to increase are potent -- even as recent reports show some improvement.  Isn't that, however, likely a lull, with new infections picking up beginning May 14 but not evidencing in illness until the 10 day incubation period is over, and then further delay until testing results come in?

On June 18, Mars goes into Pisces and stays there until August 18.  Here again is that chart.

June 18

The April 20 Further Predictions Proofing entry predicted hurricanes and harms to the economy and government.  Implicit there, and explicit here, is the virus will continue, perhaps moderating occasionally but then flaring up again.

This is a potent negative, especially for hurricanes, which season begins in earnest then anyway.  Pisces is a water sign, and Mars as the god of storms stimulates water storms there.  Also, Saturn throws a mean aspect -- glance -- to Mars.  And Mars throws a mean aspect to Gemini, where three planets -- Sun, Rahu and Mercury -- are sitting ducks.  This is a further hurricane negative but also one for the economy and government.  (Note, while other planetary significations are not included in this forecast, it is important to note that a penumbral eclipse of the Sun occurs June 21. That will destabilize everything.)

Not mentioned is that the U.S. chart has four planets in Gemini -- Sun, Jupiter, Mars and Venus.  So Mars aspects three transiting planets and four U.S. chart planets to attack as the hurricane season arrives and the virus continues to spread.  Wouldn't these also harm the economy and government?

But what about beach volleyball?  Maybe next year.

Mars Through The Summer

This calendar year The Celestial Wheel has focused upon Mars, as the planet of action.  He makes things happen with violent outbursts forcing a new future.  It is also true in Vedic Astrology that, as examining just one planet intensely can unlock a person's chart, in mundane (world events) forecasting, that technique can also yield accurate predictions.  Of course, as we're considering transits -- where the planets are in current and future skies -- that describe global karmas, these star planets change with time as the planets move.

The February 8 Now Comes Mars first explained Mars' new prominence,

For 2019, and 2020 so far, the eclipses points Rahu/Ketu, as well as eclipses themselves, have been the star players directing world events and trends.  This results from the U.S. running Rahu's 18 year Dasa -- planetary cycle -- and that transit Rahu and Ketu have been strong and potent in Gemini and Sagittarius.   Rahu as the destroyer of today and creator of tomorrow is certainly doing its job to end the Second Gilded Age and bring the Second Progressive Age.  However, because head-of-the-dragon Rahu is insanity and delusion, and tail-of-the-dragon Ketu is confusion and doubt, understanding the past and present is incomplete and distorted.  And Rahu's actions, being unanticipated and uncontrollable, further contribute to making predictions less reliable.

So, it's natural to be uncertain, and worried about, the present and future.  It seems the only person with a firm grip on himself is Trump, and we know he's mentally damaged.  That, btw, was one of the 2019 predictions that came true -- he was losing his mind and his reputation.

However, there's more certainty and reality coming forward now, for Mars has moved to center stage.  We don't enjoy this malefic's destructions, but his logic and rational thinking are certainly welcome, indeed invaluable to regain understanding of the past and present and plan for the present and future.

...Pitta (fiery) Mars will crash into Pitta Ketu February 25.

The February 16 Mars And The Corona Virus stated,

As for the Coronavirus, yes, Mars is infections, and he throws an aspect to Rahu, which is toxic -- like a poisonous serpent.  And Ketu is weirdness, befitting his otherworldly nature.  So, the Mars' upcoming conjunction with Ketu February 25 certainly indicates the Coronavirus will spike -- or more likely, infections will continue to build toward pandemic level.

But certainly other challenges could occur.  The globe is large enough for more than one disaster at a time.

On February 25, this happened, CDC warns Americans of 'significant disruption' from coronavirus.  The nation panicked, and stock markets began crashing the day before, when this news first came to light.

Subsequent Celestial Wheel entries have continued to track Mars -- the key to understanding the present and future now.  The April 20 Further Predictions Proofing presented two charts showing Mars' egress into Aquarius and Pisces May 4 and June 18 -- to take a longer look through mid summer.  Here are those charts again with both ingress and egress dates.

Mars in Aquarius May 4 to June 17

Mars in Pisces June 18 to August 18

The April 20 entry summarized predictions for Mars in Aquarius -- windy storms, popular protests, increasing virus infections and economic setbacks.  All have come true.  The really interesting one, popular protests, has not been predicted by the media or other sources, and we can certainly see now how important that is.

These first protests were against the virus shutdown -- from the white right.  Later protests came from the black and white left -- against police brutality  Following entries have further discussed this disposition.

That entry also addressed Mars in Pisces, a potent negative, especially for hurricanes, ...but also one for the economy and government. (Note, while other planetary significations are not included in this forecast, it is important to note that a penumbral eclipse of the Sun occurs June 21. That will destabilize everything.)

Below are charts for these Mars transits with aspects -- glances -- added.

Mars in Aquarius May 4 to June 17

Mars in Pisces June 18 to August 18

Further entries elaborated on these predictions. Notable are the above May 2 and 17.

The May 2 Mars Into Aquarius stated, Overall then, transits this month -- for the globe -- are difficult for 3 planets being weakly retrograde and Mars afflicting 3 planets. And the U.S. chart is hit particularly hard for harms to the sixth house of acute illness and the all-important Moon attacked by Mars. We're not out of this virus attack yet -- nor economic losses. ...it is important to note that a penumbral eclipse of the Sun occurs June 21. That will destabilize everything. Also notice that now that toxic Rahu is also now being targeted by Mars. That increases chaos and the virus.

As for Mars in Pisces, the May 17 A Perfect Beach Day is not yet on the web due to a computer failure.  The key point is this, Not mentioned is that the U.S. chart has four planets in Gemini -- Sun, Jupiter, Mars and Venus. So Mars has three transiting planets and four U.S. chart planets to attack as the hurricane season arrives and the virus continues to spread. Wouldn't these also harm the economy and government?  Thereby, although Mars and his aspects affect global karmas as shown in transit charts, Mars further hits the U.S. chart even harder.

Here's the U.S. chart. You can see the four planets in Gemini that Mars will attack June 18 to August 18.

Summer Eclipse Season Is Here!

EarthSky.org just published an astronomically informative article on this summer eclipse season -- useful here because it matches Vedic Astrology's sidereal -- star based, astronomical system.  That is, both have the planets where they actually are placed in the sky, unlike Western Astrology's symbolic seasonal zodiac that is 24 degrees ahead of the astronomy.

What is an eclipse season? neatly summarizes,

An eclipse season is a 35-day period during which it’s inevitable for at least two (and possibly three) eclipses to occur.  There are four to seven eclipses every calendar year.  Typically, there are two eclipse seasons.  They recur in cycles of 173.3 days (somewhat shy of six calendar months). Each eclipse season has two or three eclipses.  In some years, it’s possible to have a third eclipse season straddling into the previous or following year; that’s how we get to seven eclipses in some years.

This summer's three eclipses are:

partial lunar on June 5 at 21:25 degrees Scorpio
penumbral solar June 21 at 6:13 degrees Gemini
partial lunar July 4 at 19:05 degrees in Sagittarius

Solar eclipses are more potent than lunar ones.  The results because the Sun is the source of all light in the solar system and represents the self.   The Moon, although the primary planet in Vedic Astrology, glows by the reflected light of the Sun and symbolizes perception and life's benefits.

Partial eclipses are not very impactive, especially those of the Moon.  In fact, astronomically, the Moon is shaded so lightly as to be imperceptible -- mirroring its astrological effects.

Penumbral eclipses, however, are energy-packed -- especially for the Sun.  As the December 11, 2019 Venus/Saturn & Solar Eclipse entry stated,

This is called a ring of fire eclipse because, although the Moon is directly in front of the Sun, it is smaller for being far away from the earth.  That results in the Moon not fully covering the Sun's disk. Thus, an annulus – or thin ring of sunshine – surrounds the new moon silhouette.  Although not quite as powerful as a total solar eclipse, annular eclipses still hold a solid punch as they eclipse -- block -- the Sun.

Eclipses, by blocking the light of the all-important luminaries, are destabilizing.  And while the two partial lunar eclipses are not of great important, because they result in three eclipses this summer season, and bracket the strong penumbral solar eclipse, the entire eclipse season is unstable.

This eclipse instability will stress globally but most especially the already-hit-hard U.S. Vedic chart.

Note that if any of the eclipses are within 2 degrees of a planet in your Vedic chart, it will be effectively eclipsed.  Of course, the partial lunar eclipses will not be overly difficult but the penumbral solar eclipse will be.

Although this is a time when others need our help and support, it's critical to pay attention to your own situation.  Take care of yourself because nobody else will a time tested saying.  We're well beyond being able to solve problems by putting them on our MasterCard.
