Predictions Are Usually Single Issue About A Few planets And Houses

     As The Celestial Wheel is a tale of unfolding of karma, insights for predictions are typically the next incremental step, occasionally the beginning of a new durable karma.  The task is more of choosing which planetary karmas are most likely to actualize, rather than pursuing elusive insights.  If there's been turbulent weather, one naturally looks ahead to find if more storms are coming.  If political dissension is an issue, then one considers what the next topic would be.  In researching, only a few planets/houses need to be tracked-ahead.  For severe weather, look for where Mars is going and the condition of the fourth house of the home, as well as the Moon.  In political issues, consider the Sun for kingship, Saturn for democratic leaders, the tenth house for government officials, the eleventh house for goals and groups and sometimes the fourth house of tolerance and religion.  The latter example is more obviously more complex but it still manageable.

   The December 11 In-depth Forecast, Predictions Check -- A Whirlwind Summer And Fall 2013, was nearly unmanageable -- an arduous week long effort to untangle a mess of karmas.

 

An Experiment     

     Special Section -- A Whirlwind Summer And Fall 2013 was atypical, an experiment.  It was singular in predicting consequential results for seven areas of concern arising from transformational planetary karmas.  These were the once-in-a-decade Saturn/Rahu conjunction, along with the harmful Mars/Ketu Dasa planets in the U.S. chart -- plus Mercury then being terribly afflicted all October and November.  I appended pertinent news articles to track results.  This broadened predictive technique of assembling multiple predictions and adding documenting data was intended to yield coherent and definitive information. 

     Since I had been publishing The Celestial Wheel for 11 years, and really did my homework on this project, Predictions Check -- A Whirlwind Summer And Fall 2013 should have been a snap.  The old saw, Inspiration only comes from the prepared mind would apply.  In metaphysics, inspiration is called divination for the religious, and intuition is used by those of us who simply believe there is order in the universe.

     For six days I struggled without result to find connections and themes in the seven areas of concern.  I also scoured the media, looking for emerging patterns -- or find one article holding the key to inspiration.  But still, the information was there.  It had to be!  Maybe, I thought, my mind is infected with a residue from Mercury's two-month affliction?

 

It Took Me Seven Days Too!

     It was only on the seventh day that I was finally intuited a elegantly simple truth. 

     First, I recalled the JFK's assassination 50th anniversary in late November, followed closely by the Pope's position against unbridled capitalism and finally Mandella's passing December 5.  Too, Obama made some inspiring speeches -- expressing his feelings to truly connect with the people.  This was populist leadership, the necessary ingredient in the post Second Gilded Age war between the one percent and the rest of us.  After all, while many social movements are grassroots, leadership connecting with the public is necessary to make movements change society.  In fact, isn't it true that really successful leaders take their cues from the masses to propose and push through grassroots goals?  For example, grass roots desegregation efforts were uplifted by Martin Luther King, who then inspired Kennedy to lead the federal government to insist the states treat blacks equally with whites. 

     I then remembered The November 7 VedicLeaks, which, in discussing the solar eclipse, explained,

Astronomically and astrologically eclipses block, for that's what the word means.  In mundane (world) astrology, this is negative for governments, especially those led by solar kings.  Democratic governments, however, typically have leaders with strong Saturns -- the planet of the people, the masses. (Obama has Saturn in his first house of the self, as does G.W. Bush.  Bill Clinton's Mercury, which rules his Ascendant, is conjunct Saturn.)      Finally, I recalled the December 29, 2012 In-depth Forecast, Has The Second Progressive Age Begun?  As we proceed through the seven year Millennium Contraction, a war results between the monied elite and the masses of struggling common people.  Wars are fought by in individual battles, and typically one battle tilts the advantage to one army.  Obama, newly in his powerful Saturn Dasa, can become the Teddy Roosevelt of our time -- bringing a Progressive Age.  Has The Second Progressive Age Begun may have been premature, but Special Section -- A Whirlwind Summer And Fall 2013 certainly appears to have described a battle in which the people have both persevered and begun the long road back to shared democratic values lead by the president.

 

Pulling The Rabbit Out Of The Hat

     These three factors stimulated the insight, After a long economic contraction and Congress blocking both the president and itself, the public was disgusted.  Insightful leaders then began uplifting the collective unconscious -- bringing the demand for positive action and consequent hope for the future.  That is a huge shift.  Of course, the issue now is whether this is temporary effect or consequential.

    Yes, Inspiration only comes from the prepared mind, but inspiration also connotes hope and isn't that what magic is all about -- whether from a stage musician or an astrological one?  And for the religious, divination comes from the word divine.  However, as Saturn is a central player here, as discussed below, I would rather be simply be journeyman Vedic Astrologer doing his duty.  Well, okay, it is a lot of fun doing magic.

 

More About Obama

     President Obama, now well into his Saturn Dasa (planetary cycle) that begin July 2012, has naturally becoming more Saturnian -- humble, concerned with the common man, patient, selfless.  He's Saturnian thinner, hair graying, less boyish.  He is gaining Saturn's unique wisdom by experience.  Since it is Saturn’s essential purpose to temper the soul, it attacks our weak points to broaden and define the scope of our character, driving us to maturity.  (Magnificent Saturn) 

     Obama's Saturnian losses and struggles have been significant.  His enemies are rougher, but he's become tougher with them. Under Jupiter Dasa, Obama often yielded to find success in compromise.  Saturn does not yield. OBAMA FOCUSES ON A TOUGH YEAR'S UPS, NOT ITS DOWNS.  What doesn't kill you makes you stronger is perfectly Saturnian.  He now better understands his limitations and failings, including mouthing all the right words professorially but not truly relating to the masses.  The failure of healthcare.gov -- was truly the best thing that ever happened to Obama.  In recent speeches, in which he has actually expressed his feelings, and not just his ideas, audiences have finally been able to relate to him.  No Drama Obama has yielded to Obama relating emotionally.

 

Progressivism -- Saturn With Rahu In Libra

     With Saturn exalted in Libra, and well separated now from Head-of-the-dragon eclipse point Rahu, which in also moving backwards away from Saturn, Rahu is not so difficult now.  Rahu's intensifying influence on Saturn to victimize by relentless pushing ahead has become toned down enough to be useful -- empowering Saturn's higher duty and humility, rather than his lower-nature destructions.  For Saturn, one either performs ones duty and responsibility to others, or his cold hard glacial nature slowly crushes you. 

     An indispensable favorable planetary influence is the aspect of Jupiter, the great benefic, to Saturn in Libra.  Jupiter has been weakly retrograde since November 6, but that backward motion has brought him to very close aspect to Saturn.  In fact, they reached exact conjunction December 6 and remain close, now still less than 2 degrees apart.  And Libra being Obama's tenth house of career, brings powerful long term benefits from this Saturn/Jupiter influence. 

     Jupiter will turn forward March 6 at 16 degrees.  On March 2, Saturn will turn retrograde at 29 degrees -- which means they will begin approaching each other again.  Moving toward each other increases the energy between them.  And Saturn's retrograde weakens his harms, while Jupiter forward increases his benefits.  Jupiter will exactly aspect Saturn again May 24.  This means that through the winter and spring, Obama's chart will be empowered for achievement.

     For the U.S. chart, Libra is the eleventh house of friends and groups.  We've seen the Saturn/Rahu conjunction breaking apart groups, notably the Republican's Tea Party bullying extremists from mainstream Republicans.  Now that this has occurred, look for the Republicans to reform their party to more moderate positions.  Yes, the hard right will continue to howl and obstruct.  The War On Christmas is their current rallying cry -- abetted now by cries of foul that Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty was put on leave by A&E for bashing gays, blacks and anyone else not fitting his Christian white man mean-spirited version of America. 

     Phil Robertson forgot, long with the rest of the hard right, that people came to America fleeing from oppression, political and religious.  And when a minority like his tries to run over the masses, the masses vote them out.  Phil and his hard right friends have also forgotten that, while free speech is inviolate, that protection is only from the law.  Employers have every right to fire employees from sullying their reputations by extreme positions alienating others.  Phil doesn't have the right to harm A&E publicizing his truly un-American relgious bigotry.

     The hard right will doubtless raise more cane this winter when the debt ceiling must be increased again, in their perpetual battle to shrink government and favor the rich.  (Mars will be stimulating these disputes for the next several months.)  But overall, the right is weakening, for the more they double-down with austerity and Christian values efforts, the further the will isolate themselves from the rest of society.  So, they'll lose more battles in their war against the rest of us.  Yes, they receive probably 80% of the hard right vote, but since the hard right is only 20% of the nation, they truly only have only 16% of total voter support.  Remember, in America, 20% are on each end of the bell curve, leaving the 60% in the middle to decide elections.  Next November will be here sooner than we expect.  (See the March 2010 In-depth Forecast, Tug Of War.)

     But the left is also affected.  Saturn/Rahu has pressured their expression of eleventh house friends and groups, breaking these too apart to reform anew.  This is not as dramatic as the far right, but it's happening.  And if Obama is truly Saturn-wise, he'll encourage this reformation of the left, and the center too, around a progressive agenda.  Certainly, increasing the minimum wages is a great start, for nearly all Americans agree with that.

 

We're All On The Same Side

     In closing, here in elderly Venice Florida, founded by a union, most folks are fairly mellow.  Well, too, with age usually comes the wisdom of kindness and forgiveness, especially during the holidays.  They have finished their battles and retire to peaceful lives.  Some, however, in feeling their mortality, become fearful.  Too, with racism alive and well in America, they pray to Jesus on Sunday and to FOX news Monday through Saturday -- which channel and related media play the victim card to save them from the progressives, especially black devil Obama.  Thus, the aforementioned war on Christmas, with steady adherents year after year, is the perfect ploy. 

     It isn't fun to encounter these hateful and evil folks, who otherwise appear genial, happy and forgiving, when politics or religion is discussed.  They are really mean!  Here's a tip to both identify them and strike their black hearts -- tell them we're all on the same side.  We're' all Americans first. 

     Challenging their hate with love, their discord with cooperation, spins them out like a car on an icy road.  And if that doesn't get their goat, tell him, that's what the Pope said and Jesus would say.  Then finish them off by telling them that all the religions believe the same -- Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, pagans, Native American beliefs...  That infuriates the hard right more than anything -- a brave American selfless truth that running counter to their selfish fear.  It causes a visceral lock and load response.  Try it and you'll get an unexpected, truly amazing reaction.  They run away from you, for their hate and fear is indefensible, and they know it.  Bullies - age 10, 50 or 90 -- are by definition fearful.

     When the opposing army begins to fear yours in battle, you've won the war. 

     There's a key and crucial point here.  We not only have to vote for good and live our lives for good, but we must also resist evil and root it out when we can.  Polite debate is integral to the democratic system.  That is our common Saturnian duty.  So, don't let your neighbors, friends, family, or even chance acquaintances, get away with their fearful politics and oppressive religious beliefs.  Speak the truth, and they will hear it.  Also, challenging the meanness and hate within the fearful is a good thing.  It stimulates them to face their fears.

 

Oh, The Solstice

     I almost forgot this forecast title includes Winter Solstice.  Today the Sun shines the fewest hours, and darkness lasts longer than any other.  Yes, the cold winter is yet ahead, but every morning now, there is more light and less darkness.  As my first Vedic teacher used to say, When the cows are going one way, go with the cows, not the other direction.  The Sun is a planet in Vedic Astrology, signifying the ego and the soul, that which is most important to us.  Now that he is growing stronger and brighter each day, embrace his light to feed your soul to reject darkness.
