Just Cause I'm Paranoid...
These are difficult times. One may even say perilous. Not only do most of us struggle with worldly affairs, there's also a common consciousness of fear, that our lives, and indeed society, are at great rislk Better look both ways, twice, before driving through intersections!
Climate change hazards combine with risky societal and dangerous politics situations to replace confidence with paranoia, satisfaction with dissatisfaction, mental peace with emotional disturbances.
It's these drivers that stimulates The Celestial Wheel to focus again on the term mystical paranoia, which was coined over decade ago to describe the U.S. Vedic chart's lifelong karmas. The November 3, 2009 Global Outlook Into 2012 And Beyond explained this phenomena in the U.S Vedic chart in item #4. Below is a quote from this section along with a U.S. chart graphic.
The all-important Moon rules the 8th of hidden power/disasters and is placed 8 houses away in the 3rd house of desires. An aspect from Jupiter stimulates both wealth and desire. The net effect is an intoxication with power and gluttony. Related is toxic Rahu and mutable Mercury placed in the 8th, bringing a mystical paranoia with cults permeating society. Saturn/Mars manipulators in business and government prey upon beliefs in Armageddon and fears of attacks by (dark skinnned) foreigners, enabling them to grab power and wealth.

To better understand these planetary karmas, know that the eighth house is that of: hidden depths, the dark shadows of society, catastrophe, terror, violences, scandals, sex, psychic abilities and mysticism. And also known that Rahu is dark skinned foreigners. Further, religion, in piercing the veil between this reality and other realities to find deep truths thereby resides in the eighth.
The November 7 The River Of Life stated,
| Because Rahu and Mercury are both in the calamitous eighth house, there are tremendous mental and physical stresses, upwellings of subconsciousness karmas and fears. (Look for not just calamities but also scandals, secrets revealed, sexual issues...) This is probably the worst Dasa/Antardasa combination in this entire transformational Rahu Dasa. It (Rahu/Mercury Dasa) lasts from November 13, 2023 to June 2 2026 -- 2 /1/2 years. |
With this explanation, it's natural to state, Just Because I'm Paranoid Doesn't Mean They Aren't out to get me. To the extent that you can, hang loose, keep your detachment, plan ahead and know we'll get through this one way or another. After all, the darkest time is just before the dawn. And since this is Rahu Dasa in the U.S. chart, which effects are unanticipated and uncontrollable, results are not usually one way but another. So, it's not a bad idea to bury some cash in the back yard and keep your gas tank full.

One way to look at this situation is to consider Trump's destructive Jupiter/Ketu Dasa planets sinking his ship by next fall, when he will then lose the election.
Following that are the consequences of the MAGA cult disintegrating, which we can see in the U.S. struggling for another yet another year and half. As for Biden, Saturn will continue to tighten its vise, making it unlikely he will win the election. But, if he does, he won't last long. |
These Dasas signal the transformation of U.S. society under Rahu's 18 year Dasa -- taking further steps into the Second Gilded Age. As we're all in this together, and much like COVID 19, everyone is impacted. These influences result in long term and significant change.
With this broad brush Dasas approach, the course of the River Of Life is mapped out, exempting the added information from transits -- where the planets are in today's skies. Transits are shorter term and more worldly karmas, much like weather conditions on the River Of Life. Like thunderstorms, most aren't consequential but some, like hurricanes, can be devastating. (That being said, specific and accurate predictions can be made when both Dasas and Transits signify the same karma.)
Because Vedic Astrology is complex, technical and symbolic, it makes sense to consider Dasas separately from transits. And sometimes, transits can appear more potent than Dasas -- especially as they influence globally. (Dasas are only existent in individual birth charts.) But for now, let's stick with Dasas -- to better see and plan ahead on the River Of Life.
That being said, with the holidays upon us, there's a natural yearning for joy to replace angst during during this turbulent time. So below is the global sign chart for today to show us the temporary karmas.
Transits December 16, 2023
Venus, the planet of love and grace, is well placed in her own house of Libra. Enjoyments, pleasures and females are all supported to bring some much needed light.
Lower mind Mercury and higher mind Jupiter, however, are both retrograde, which weakens communications, understanding and optimism.
Mercury is retrograde December 12, 2023 until January 2, 2024.
Jupiter has been retrograde since September 4 and will finally turn forward December 31, 2023.
So, be gentle and understanding with yourself and others to best navigate through to the New Year. Then, with both mental planets during forward at the year's change, the beginning of 2024 will be rewarding for pursuits after New Years.
Perhaps your New Year's resolutions will be better founded, and some may even bear fruit.

Almost There
The December 16 Transit Update restated that the Dasas (underlying karma) for the key charts of the U.S., Biden and Trump signal great peril for the U.S. -- but also opportunity to purify and grow. Here's the summary,

Lastly, the December 16 Transit Update explained that current retrogrades for the mental planets -- Jupiter and Mercury -- cause problems -- for everyone across the globe. Lower mind Mercury and higher mind Jupiter, however, are both retrograde, which weakens communications, understanding and optimism.
With Jupiter turning forward December 31 and Mercury on January 2, we're Almost There with the holiday season strife ending. Tuesday will be a new day dawning, both in tensions dissipating and the mental ability for problem solving revived. We can expect early 2024 to be much improved over 2023.
The three charts under consideration have naturally been hit, one more than the others. Note, a major driver (not previously mentioned) is that Mercury has been tightly conjunct Mars. Today's transit chart (below) shows Mars having just crossed Mercury, and visa versa. In fact, these planets have been tightly conjoined for about a week -- December 23.
And, after Mercury turns forward, it will race to catch up to Mars for an exact conjunction January 26 -- but still tightly conjunct until February 1. So, this is a pretty durable combination of the planet of communications and that planet of discord. Hot Mars' aggressive energy on mutable Mercury brings liars, lawyers, politicians and thieves!
Transits January 29, 2023
The U.S. doesn't have any planets in the affected signs of Scorpio and Sagittarius, which protects the country from major events and overly sensitive responses.
Biden has the Sun and Venus in Scorpio but at a low degree -- well away from the Mercury/Mars combination. So he's not overly impacted.
Trump, on the other hand, is hit really hard with the Mercury/Mars combination. Both planets are extremely weak in Sagittarius due to getting only 1 point out of 8 in a weighting system called Ashatakavarga. Think of driving on an icy road with bald tires and a stuttering motor.
Plus, Trump's Dasas are really difficult being Jupiter/Ketu since October 22. Trump's Dasas (planetary cycles) alone result in his living by his emotions, losing rationality and diving into his own mystical paranoia.
Add in the Mercury/Mars transit energy on his overly sensitive Moon, and he's been been even more excessive this holiday season. For example, his daily barrage of statements and legal motions have both increased in number and viciousness are strangely repetitive -- presidential immunity, election interference, I did nothing wrong...-- even though the courts have ruled against these motions repeatedly. Trump is repeating the same action and expecting a different result. He is digging himself into a deeper hole with the courts and the public daily.
It could be Trump falters, or even fails, during January.
