The Mars/Saturn Conjunction Is Finished
August VedicLeaks entries focused upon the destructive conjunction of malefics Mars and Saturn in Libra. You can also see this on the home page's listing of current forecasting. While the conjunction's destructive energy increased as these planets drew close to meet August 25, there was a final kick this past weekend. Then, the all-important Moon transited through that battleground. Heavy storms hit the U.S., the Mideast churned...
However, keep in mind, the oft-repeated assertion that the greater strength of the benefics -- Jupiter, Venus and Mercury -- not only dampened the Mars/Saturn harms but also turned those lemons into lemonade. The August 28 entry, titled Perspective, closed with,
Too, the Israel/Palestine truce is holding; even the Ukraine civil war seems to be nearing resolution -- Ukraine crisis: Putin hopes for peace deal by Friday.
Further, and this is truly great news for those with a world view, Obama's pivot away from the U.S. being the world policeman to cooperation among allies is bearing fruit -- NATO is being rejuvenated and retasked to take the lead in Ukraine and the Mideast, LEADERS: US, UK WILL 'NOT BE COWED' BY MILITANTS,
...a high-stakes NATO summit. While the official agenda will focus on the crisis in Ukraine and the drawdown of the NATO combat mission in Afghanistan, the rise of the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria will dominate discussions on the sidelines of the summit.

Even the Kansas riots are bringing benefit -- AP SOURCE: US TO INVESTIGATE FERGUSON POLICE -- addressing America's shameful racism, with the underlying issue of economic inequality. That this popular protest elicited that meaningful response from the Federal Government is another early sign of the Second Progressive Age gradually coming in -- restoring shared democratic values of both racial and economic equality.
The Big Picture
Astrology doesn't work unless all the planets are examined and their patterns revealed and interpreted. Just one planet doesn't do it. Western Sun-sign astrology suffers from the fatal flaw of focusing exclusively upon one planet, the Sun. Being simplistic is different from simplicity. Oh, you are such a Sagittarius! Sagittarius are born entertainers and conversationalists. They have no shortage of ideas due to their adventurous lifestyle and exciting life experiences. Or, Are you a Scorpio? -- you have that deep secretive scorpion energy, I know!
This is true of any study or activity -- even sports, where the football quarterback is a key player, but he's not the team! No quarterback ever won or lost a game. Teams win or lose.
A great example of the Big Picture is this summer's unusual configuration of strong benefic planets outweighing a malefic combination to empower solutions to problems. Note: this operates in both world events and improving your situation. So, if you didn't take advantage of this rare opportunity, you may pay for that this fall, when the planets become really rough. Remember Aesop's The Ant and the Grasshopper?
The benefic planets will soon to begin to lose their united power the middle of this month. Mercury in its exalted sign of Virgo is strong, but toxic Rahu is also in Virgo. These planets draw closer daily. Rahu's energy on Mercury brings toxic thinking and fear of attack -- paranoia. (Note: since Virgo is the sixth hose of acute illness, this suggests the Ebola outbreak will get worse before it gets better.). But since there's still a couple of weeks left to gather grain for the winter, if your root cellar isn't full, get crackin!
With the interval of strong benefics nearly over, it's natural to begin looking ahead again for any meaningful upcoming planetary configurations. Meaningful, means configurations that involve all or most of the planets and thereby become impactive. This is the concept of confluence -- repetition of planetary karma is necessary to bring events. There are two coming this fall.
First, the Mars/Saturn conjunction is literally over, for Mars is getting ready to leave Libra, where Saturn is placed, and transiting into Scorpio. This results in another very unusual planetary configuration -- five planets either exalted or in their own signs: Exaltations: Jupiter in Cancer, Mercury in Virgo and Saturn in Libra. Own sign: Sun in Leo, Mars in Scorpio.
A fundamental rule in Vedic Astrology is that all planets do well in their own signs and signs of exaltation. This is because those signs welcome those planets, and those planets feel welcome in those signs. Thereby, all planets' function both with strength and quality -- strong and with their best effects -- as well as the houses where they reside. This is true of even the malefics, for malefics do cause harm, but they also hold essential beneficial qualities. Mars is courage, logic..... Saturn is organization and responsibility... This chart for September 6 shows those sign placements.

It will take a lot of quiet time, contemplative effort, to begin to understand what these potently good dispositions portend, but certainly it's a positive. What could be otherwise? It may be that hot spots in the world will come under control by cooperation via NATO -- Ukraine, Syria/Iraq and Israel/Gaza. Other issues could be similarly resolved. The exceptional power of the planets gives the power to both bring and enforce agreements.
As good as this plethora of excellent planetary placements is, it lasts only until September 16. Then, the Sun leaves Leo for Virgo, and Mercury will be close to Rahu! Still, a lot can be achieved during the next two weeks. (You could also finish filling up your root cellar.)
The second meaningful configuration begins on the heels of five planets good in their own signs, or exaltation signs. The Celestial Wheel already discussed this in the August 21 entry, in the section November 4 Midterm Elections. There will be a lot of tough planetary karmas hitting the fan in October and early November. That the destabilizing eclipse season occurs in October ignites these several potentially explosive planetary dispositions: October 8 total lunar 21 degrees Pisces: October 23 partial solar 6 degrees Libra.
While interpreting the meaning of the five planets exalted or in their own signs is a challenge, it's child's play compared with integrating the information from the eclipse season. However, it does feel a little like the fall of 2008, when the stock market crashed, causing Obama to win the election.
Yet, this is not a prediction, just an observation that the energies then were similarly intense. But it's also true that intuitive hits like this shouldn't be ignored. Remember, Inspiration only comes from the prepared mind, and this astrologer spends wakeful days, and sometime wakeful nights as well, with planetary symbolisms bouncing around in his conscious and unconscious mind.
