Mars/Saturn Harms

The March 29 Celestial Wheel predicted that malefics Mars and Saturn in opposition would be destructive and stimulate tension, jealousy, frustration and anger -- ...this week may start out well but promises to be increasingly challenging.  So, take it easy and avoid pushing too hard, even as you may have a lot of energy.  Dealing with Mars/Saturn problems will be very difficult.  That mental Mercury was also weak and afflicted brought extreme urges.

The sensitive dates were predicted to be March 31 -- April 4.  Tuesday through Saturday.

The headline-grabbing violence was the April 3 massacre in Binghamton, N. Y. -- At Least 12 Killed In Binghamton.  However, Deadly Rampages Rack the Nation explains that over the weekend, a man in Pittsburgh killed three police officers, and a Washington State shot his five children -- and then himself.  While there are always disturbances somewhere on the globe, the concentration in the U.S. results from transit Mars and Saturn being very harmful in that chart.

The North Korean rocket launch occurred at 11:30 AM local time April 6, when Mars and Saturn had just passed exact conjunction.  Interestingly, the launch was planned for April 4 but was delayed by bad weather -- another effect of Mars/Saturn.

These challenging planetary karmas have a global reach which have impacted everyone in one way or another.  So, keep in mind that predictions are valuable to you as well -- that the Celestial Wheel it's about you.

The Italy Earthquake

This morning's earthquake outside Rome occurred at 3:30 AM, when Mars and Saturn had already begun separating.  The timing indicator here was the Moon (home), which was approaching Saturn in Leo, opposite Mars. Although this is a terrible disaster, Powerful Italian quake kills many, it would have been much worse if Mars and Saturn were still approaching each other when the Moon entered their destructive energy field.

President Obamas' Tribulations

The March 26 Celestial Wheel explained how President Obama's planetary cycles changed on March 24 from his great Jupiter/Moon to the hazardous Jupiter/Mars -- Obama's Great Moon Has Set.  This entry referenced predictions made earlier in the February 21 Celestial Wheel, which included, Obama having so many problems to deal with, he won't be able to solve them.

The Mars/Saturn opposition and weak Mercury have already loaded his plate with international challenges:

Barack Obama fails to win Nato troops he wants for Afghanistan

UN Security Council Divided Over North Korea Rocket Launch

Sunni Fighters Say Iraq Didn't Keep Job Promises

U.S. Aid Delays in (Mexican) Drug War Criticized

Domestically, the March 26 Celestial Wheel expressed concern, the big issue -- keeping the country united behind him.  There are all kinds of problems with the economy, and more issues keep surfacing from Bush's botched administration.  This article, Partisan Gap in Obama Job Approval Widest In Modern Era is an early warning that polarization is already creeping back into the American psyche.

Settling Down

The planets will have settled down by Wednesday, April 8.  Then,  Mars and Saturn will be separated enough to stop causing destructive events.  Mercury will have moved out of its fallen (weak) sign of Pisces and will be strong and sharp in Aries, and the Moon will have moved away from the Saturn/Mars axis.

We can see this visually in the below Spring-Summer 2009 Timeline, as first published in the March 29 Celestial Wheel.

Aggressive Mars will conjoin with loving Venus beginning April 17, and combination will harm Venus's wealth, relationship and vehicles, but it will be a short-lived affliction, for these are fast moving planets.

So, enjoy the benign interval from April 8 to 17.  This doesn't mean that everyone will have wonderful experiences every day -- but rather that it's springtime in nature and for the planets as well.

Subject:  Today through Thursday are somewhat sensitive

Dear subscribers,

Today through Thursday are somewhat sensitive.  Mars and the Sun are changing signs, making these two planets of energy temporarily weak -- thereby harmful.

Too, this is the very last of the Mars/Saturn opposition, giving a destructive finale.  The transmitter at NPR radio in Flagstaff broke yesterday, and this morning, two vanity light bulbs in this astrologer's bathroom suddenly exploded!  Watch for more reports of breakdowns and violences, and use care in your personal activities.  Of course, we've already seen the media full of pirate attacks.  Also, see Conflicker worm hits University of Utah computers.

On a personal level, the weakness in Mars and Sun compromise: power, authority, confidence, courage, machinery, equipment and the body -- notably the head and the heart.  Too, as Mars is infections, you may be vulnerable to a cold.  So, again, take it easy, pace yourself and avoid activities that could be dangerous.

Still, on balance the period from April 8 to 17 is pretty nice.  As stated in the April 6 Celestial Wheel, it's springtime in nature and for the planets as well.  This Mars/Sun situation is just some blustery spring weather as the seasons shift.

Subject: A Passionate Weekend

Dear subscribers,

The April 6 Celestial Wheel's closing section, Settling Down, advised,

The planets will have settled down by Wednesday, April 8.  Then,  Mars and Saturn will be separated enough to stop causing destructive events.  Mercury will have moved out of its fallen (weak) sign of Pisces and will be strong and sharp in Aries, and the Moon will have moved away from the Saturn/Mars axis.

Aggressive Mars is coming to loving Venus in her exalted sign of Pisces today through this weekend -- a combination symbolizing passion in all things.  This can promote relationship, both a new spring romance or warming up an ongoing one.  However, new attractions will be passion-based, and they may not last.

Further, the Moon is the specific indicator for romance, but it is with Rahu, the feared head-of-the-dragon eclipse point.  This combination brings vulnerability, especially of being taken advantage of.  It also stimulates overuse of alcohol and other conscious-changing chemicals.   As Rahu is also illusion, new people you meet may not be who they first appear to be.

Readers of both sexes should take heed of this information -- whether it's a striking new potential beau or reigniting the passion with an ongoing partner.  This doesn't mean you shouldn't have some springtime fun.  It's been a tough winter, and we all need some R&R.

Finally, there's been little Celestial Wheel publishing the past two weeks.  This astrologer has been deeply immersed in a longterm economic forecast for the 2009 -- 2012+ Millennium Contraction -- first named in the March 14 Celestial Wheel.  This information will be vital to everyone's planning.

Subject: More Mars/Venus Concerns

Dear subscribers,

Last Friday's subscriber-direct email, A Passionate Weekend, explained,

Aggressive Mars is coming to loving Venus in her exalted sign of Pisces today through this weekend -- a combination symbolizing passion in all things
.

In the haste associated with that energy, this astrologer failed to look ahead -- to see that Mars and Venus would then exactly conjoin yesterday and today and then remain locked together for the next several weeks.  Thus, the Mars/Venus passion continues, and while romance is an obvious issue, other Venusian significations also suffer from Mars' aggressive and destructive energy.

Venus is swift, going through a house/sign in a month.  Mars moves half as quickly, taking two months to transit a sign.  Normally, then, Mars and Venus separate quickly.  The current situation is, as Mars approached retrograde motion Venus, Venus turned forward on April 18 and slowly began to accelerate.  It takes a while for Venus to first get up to speed and then catch Marx.

An analogy is a ponderous mule passes a grazing race horse, and the horse gives chase.  It takes a while to first get up to speed and then catch up and pass the mule.

Venus will speed up over the next several weeks, but it won't be until early June that she begins closing in on Mars.  On June 19, Venus will catch Mars and then advance away from him.  Then, gentle Venus will be freed from aggressive Mars.

Mars/Venus passion is not all bad, for Mars' heated energy gets other planets to act.  However, Venus's significations do suffer, or at least are over stimulated -- fast, heated romances.  Venus' significations made sensitive by Mars include:  kidneys, reproductive system, skin beauty, clothing, addictions, females, wife, wealth, luxuries, vehicles, cooperation. diplomacy, music, entertainment and all the arts.

It is true, however, that some activities prosper, like auto racing, for Mars' machinery on Venus' vehicles pumps up that sport.  Too, Venus improves Mars' machinery.   There will, however, tend to be more accidents.  Artists may be inspired, but paintings could be garish, or paint could be spilled.  Singers will have more gusto, but the voice may crack.   Dancers could  leap too high.   Musicians could play too loudly, or even break a guitar string.

As passion is desire -- Kama -- and detachment is the opposite energy, it is important to consciously maintain equilibrium in your lives.  After all, it is excess kama that disturbs our lives, causing problems for us -- especially wanting more and more and more -- greed.  Be moderate in all things to avoid subjectivity and maintain objectivity.  And, when you become involved in situations that are heated up in some way, try to diffuse the energy first.  Resolution will then come more easily.  Haste makes waste.

Publicly, expect more scandals across a broad range: finance, real estate, mortgage, civilian government, military, artists/performers and lusty sex.

PS  If you let small children play with makeup, do it outside, and monitor teenagers, especially when they go out at night.  Venus' skin beauty with Mars also stimulates tattoos.

Subject: Mercury Is Temporarily Weak

Dear subscribers,

I added a couple of thoughts to Wednesdays email notice, More Mars/Venus Concerns, notably scandals.  As is customary, this was posted to The Celestial Wheel website -- see above.

So, you understand desire is heightened for the next several weeks, until about June 19, and this energy needs to be used carefully to avoid problems.

Other planetary dispositions can elevate this ongoing Mars/Venus issue.  Right now, Mercury, the intellect, is changing signs from Aries to Taurus.  In doing so, Mercury becomes very weak, restricting the ability for reasoned and objective thinking.  As Mars/Venus passion brings desire for action, this weak Mercury cannot provide a check and can actually stimulate actions with negative consequences.

Use care in make decisions and commitments, especially in business or your work.  If possible, delay these until next week.

Mercury will regain his strength in Taurus on Saturday.

Continuing Mars/Venus Concerns

The big topics of the moment are global swine flu and scandals in the U.S..

Swine Flu

The swine flu has brought global alarm. Some countries have banned pork, even though the flu is not transmitted by pigs but rather by people, U.S. Warns China, Other Countries Not to Ban Pork.

Too, the U.S. CDC suggests the flu may not be really virulent, as it appears most people recover quickly, and the deaths in Mexico result from many thousands having been infected.  (No one in the U.S. had died from the infection, yet.)  It will take time, however, for CDC and other health agencies to pin down exactly what is happening.  The originating country of Mexico was not was not equipped to monitor the disease.

A quick analysis of the planetary dispositions in the World Transit Chart doesn't reveal a pandemic but rather a an overreaction.  This results from the continuing Venus/Mars conjunction in Pisces, which the last few Celestial Wheels (above) have examined.  The best explanation is in the April 21 entry.

It is true, however, that Mars is also infections, which may account for the flu outbreak.  If this is correct, then the flu will continue until Mars/Venus is over June 19.  The May 16, 2006 In-dept Celestial Wheel, The Risk Of A Bird Flu Pandemic, examined charts for the three pandemics in the twentieth century.  The patterns found there are not repeated now.

The April 21Celestial Wheel further observed,

It is true, however, that some activities prosper, like auto racing, for Mars' machinery on Venus' vehicles pumps up that sport.  Too, Venus improves Mars' machinery.  There will, however, tend to be more accidents.  Artists may be inspired, but paintings could be garish, or paint could be spilled.  Singers will have more gusto, but the voice may crack.  Dancers could  leap too high.  Musicians could play too loudly, or even break a guitar string.

To show just how potent this Mars/Venus combination is, a longtime NASCAR fan sent this terrific play-by-play email yesterday,

Actually there were 2 big accidents.  The one you probably heard about was Carl Edward in the Cup race.  He went down and tried to block and ended up in the fence, taking out Ryan Newman along the way.  Drivers were not hurt but we have heard 2 different reports -- one that 7 spectators were injured and other that 8 were hurt.  In the Nationwide race, Matt Kenseth did some barrel rolls and finally ended up right side up --  thank God because his car was on fire and his very pregnant wife was at the race watching.

Anyway it did not take Matt long to get out of the car and he raced in the Cup on Sunday.  Those are the two worst wrecks we have seen in a long time.  However they were at Talledega and that is usually a wreck fest   It started on Lap 8.  I can't  remember how many cars were involved in that, but out of the bunch that wrecked, 5 cars did not come back on the track.

Scandals In the U.S.

The April 21 Celstial Wheel ended with the observation, Publicly, expect more scandals across a broad range: finance, real estate, mortgage, civilian government, military, artists/performers and lusty sex.  The prisoner abuse scandal has certainly heated up, and the latest is, Report:  Abuse tactics used to seek Iraq-al Qaida link.  The Mars/Venus conjunction in Pisces is the U.S.hart's fourth house -- deepest feelings and beliefs.  This controversy, then, strikes to the very essence of American culture.

U.S.Dasa's (planetary cycles) change today from Mars/Mars to Mars/Rahu, and this volatile brew continues until May 17.  Rahu being in the eighth house of turmoil and secrets, suggests both that there are more hidden crimes, and revealing these will cause an outcry across the nation.  Too, as Mars is desire and anger, head-of-the-dragon eclipse point intensifies both.  The American people will want the guilty parties identified, take responsibility for their actions and be punished under the law.

G.W. Bush could come under fire for his torture actions after May 3.  Over the next two years, he is vulnerable to being completed discredited, perhaps even charged with criminal activity.  Dick Cheney, the dark power behind the throne, will fight on, but a calamity seems certain.  His cardiac system is at risk right now.

Finance is another area targeted for scandal.  See, Day of reckoning at Bank of America.  The still new seven year Mars Dasa for the U.S. chart has already signaled economic problems, which The Celestial Wheel labeled the Millennium Contraction on March 14.  Another quality of this Mars cycle is public protests.  Watch for these to mount as greedy bankers continue to demand huge bonuses, After Off year, Wall Street Pay Is Bouncing Back.  Their sense of entitlement is absurd and insults the people -- especially those who've lost their jobs or have to take pay cuts.

How Mars/Venus Affects You

Everyone is drawn into the swine flu and scandals issues.  Also, where Mars/Venus are in your chart indicates areas of stress.  For this astrologer, Mars/Venus is in his sixth of expenses and appetite.  Fraudulent charges have hit his bank account, requiring immediate action.  Also, last evening's one broiled burger turned into three, and the stomach is still protesting this afternoon.  If you have your Vedic chart, look at Pisces, the top left box, to see which house is affected.  If you're befuddled or worried about events in your life, recall VedicPredictiveAstrology.com reduced fees for new clients by 20% in February and added the thrifty Chart Check for continuing clients.

The lesson of course, is moderation in all things.

One way good way to use up the Mars/Venus energy is gardening.  Mars is agriculturalists (farmers) and Venus is plants, notably flowers and especially roses.  Gardening diverts destructive passion into productive work that calms.  If you have to do some weeding, pretend the weeds are bank executives or members of G.W. Bush's We don't torture administration.  You'll clear them out in no time, and feel better for it!
