2014 Wrap-up
There's a groundswell in the press about the division between Elizabeth Warren's populism and establishment Democrats' liberalism.

The December 28VedicLeaks voiced concern about accidents.

Into 2015
As Dasas (planetary cycles) are the primary karma in a chart, this combination of two Pitta (fiery) malefics Mars and Sun in the U.S. chart is key. A lot of conflicts will come this winter and spring --major one in the Republican controlled Congress.

Will this Mars/Sun Dasa cycle further advance the populist movement? Of course. In refocusing the political landscape upon the people, it will also set the agenda for the 2016 presidential election -- when the next Teddy Roosevelt can win.

Watch cops nonchalantly hose celebrating Ohio State fans with pepper spray

There's a certain irony to the police attacking white students after a violent football game.  Watch the video, and you'll see the students were only celebrating!  OMG, they actually don't only pick on black guys!

If America doesn't realize now there's a huge problem with the police being militarized, then they
don't know how to spell "Pinkerton."

On the beach tonight here in Venice Florida to watch the sunset, there were lots of lots of senior citizens
wearing their red Florida State shirts in celebration of this first national title.  But when I explained the victory
was spoiled by the police attacking the students after the game... well some understood.

Others said the students deserved it. I responded that it's not it is okay to bust student fans' heads after the game.  But it's also not not okay to bust student athletes' heads during a game! A game is not a gladiatorial event!

If you don't get this, watch this Joe Namath video.  It's soooo sad to see this great athlete so diminished.
Don't just hear his halting speech. Look at his eyes.  Joe Namath: 'None Of The Body Was Designed To Play Football'

Remember Bob Dylan? It's time to sing that song again. We're all targets of the militarized police protecting the new feudal lords behind their security gates. Really.

The Times They Are A-Changin'

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin'
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.

Astrology Is Astronomy Brought To Earth

Astrology's correlation between the celestial patterns and earthly reality is astronomy brought to earth.  As above, so below.

This will eventually pop up in a Geico commercial -- after the Everybody knows that! response to a commonplace fact, But, did you know that astrology is astronomy brought to earth?

However, only some people know that the familiar Western Astrology is based upon the seasons and is thereby disconnected from the heavens.  This contrasts with the sidereal (astronomical) astrology the Indians use for their Vedic Astrology zodiac  The Western Tropical Zodiac is about 24 degrees advanced, (further ahead) than the actual star and planet positions used in the Eastern Sdereal Zodiac.

Actually, Everybody knew that a few years ago when FOX News published, Age of Aquarius Actually Age of Capricorn, Thanks to Rotation of the Earth -- like it was actually news but truly wasn't, just like the rest of FOX News :-)  All astronomers, and most astrologers, have known this as a basic fact, since forever.  But it sure surprised the masses!  And when I then wrote a free Celestial Wheel forecast explaining the issue, Astrology's Zodiac Is Debunked, I was amazed at the number of page visits.  So, if you've forgotten, take a look at the above links.

Moving on, Tropical Astrology, by measuring the Sun-driven seasons, should be good for seasonal -- weather -- forecasting, right? Well maybe. I don't know. Go ask a Western astrologer. And Vedic Astrology, in relating directly to the heavens instead, shouldn't be used for weather forecasting, right? No. As it turns out, in revealing there is order in the universe by astrology bringing astronomy to earth, everything earthly can be learned. You just need to know where to look, and then how to interpret the information.

Let's have some fun with this.  Following is that weather hypothesis and its application.

Our calender is Sun-based for the simple reason that the Sun is the source of all energy, and seasonal changes are fundamental to life on earth.  As the earth orbits the Sun, the astronomical angle of its axis to the Sun changes. Sunlight hours thereby increase for six months and then decrease for six months, which sets the seasons.  But that doesn't fully explain seasonal weather.

The hypothesis is that seasonal weather can be more accurately understood by the additional measurement of the Sun passing through the twelve signs of the zodiac every year for the northern hemisphere.

Consider the current period to see how this can work. Two basic pieces of information are needed. First, we need to know the dates the Sun passes through the Vedic Signs.  The Vedic Sun changes signs in the middle of the month.  This year, the Sun is in Capricorn January 14 to February 12.  On February 13, the Sun shifts into Aquarius and stays there until March 14.  On March 15 the Sun will enter Pisces.  It stays there until April 14.   The Sun transits Aries April 15 to May 14.

Second, in Vedic Astrology, planets rule signs, which gives signs their basic qualities.  Capricorn is ruled by Vatta (windy, cold) Saturn.  Aquarius is also ruled by Saturn. (But Aquarius is a little easier than tough Capricorn.) Pisces is ruled by Kapha (water, warm) Jupiter.  Aries is ruled by Pitta (hot, stormy) Mars.

Put these together to reach some basic conclusions about seasonal weather.

Sign Dates
Sign Ruler & Qualities

Expected Weather

Capricorn 1/14 -- 2/12 Saturn -- windy, coldest windy and coldest winter storms
Aquarius 2/12 -- 3/14 Saturn -- windy, cold windy and cold winter storms
Pisces 3/15 -- 4/14 Jupiter -- wet, warm heavy snowy, warming trend, flooding
Aries 4/15 -- 5/14 Mars -- hot, stormy violent thunderstorms, tornadoes,

This seems to fit typical winters.  Certainly beginning mid month makes more sense than the Sun calender month to describe weather patterns.

To learn more about weather, however, we can look at other planets influencing the Sun -- and also the ruler of the sign in which the Sun is placed.

Last winter, there was a monster blizzard February 11 to 17.   The Sun was in Saturn-ruled Capricorn then and afflicted by a bad Mars aspect from February 5 through February 12.  And Saturn was afflicted by being conjunct both Rahu* and Mars beginning February 5.  The storm started by Mars afflicting the Sun and continued as Mars and Rahu afflicted Saturn.

This winter, This winter, the Sun is aspected by restrictive Saturn aspect mid January to mid February. Then it's clear until mid March, when it transits into Pisces.  There the Sun catches up to both Ketu* and Mars.  As Ketu is an eclipse point, the eclipse season runs then:  Total solar 3/20 5:23 Pisces Total lunar 4/4 20;19 Virgo.

Eclipse, which means what the word says -- block -- is a top affliction to the Sun.  After all, as the Sun's quality is light and heat, an eclipse knocks it out.  And a total eclipse is obviously the most potent. Note that astronomical eclipses occur when the Sun or Moon are close to, but not exactly conjunct, one of the eclipse points, Rahu or Ketu. There's a secondary eclipse in the astrological conjunction of the Sun with Ketu, which will happen March 30. Expect major snowy storms with heavy flooding when the Sun transits Pisces from mid March through mid April.

Although this analysis is only about weather, since Ketu is gas and oil, expect supply disruptions then, for the hot Sun naturally afflicts Ketu. Also, Mars will be in the mix in Pisces with Ketu beginning mid February, which can kick off oil supply problems that become dire in March/April. See the December 28, 2014 VedicLeaks entry. It could be that severe storms are a cause.

(*Rahu and Ketu are the eclipse points, known astronomically as the Lunar Nodes. In Vedic/Hindu Astrology, they are two halves of a dragon -- Rahu the head and Ketu the tail.)

The State Of The Union & The State Of The Planets

Last evening's State Of The Union address was anticipated with little enthusiasm, nor truly any belief that proposals by President Obama would be passed the the Republican controlled Congress. It was rather, routine. There was, however, a look ahead to the Second Progressive Age in a new term, middle class economics.  (The Celestial Wheel has identified this as the populist movement.) And the President was combative, which drew Republican anger.

The State Of The Planets confirms this strange combination of frustration, subdued mood and low energy -- which many of us naturally feel personally. This is a global influence from transits -- where the planets are in today's skies.

The Sun, Venus and Mercury are all restrained by being in Saturn-ruled signs. This is not fun!

Mercury turned retrograde this morning -- until February 11. Expect typical Mercury retro mental confusions and sensitivities, as well as problems with communications, calculations, memory and the respiratory system. Be careful to not catch the flu!

Mars and Saturn, the major malefics, struggle with each other by sitting in each other's signs. Mars prods slow Saturn, annoying it. Saturn restricts aggressive Mars, frustrating him. Use of authority is an issue.

Mars throws a mean aspect (glance) to Rahu, stimulating outer courage and inner fear -- and some nasty violences.

Abundant Jupiter, exalted in Cancer, is ineffective because he's weakly retrograde December 7, 2014 to April 8, 2015.

A friend called yesterday complaining that she felt almost totally dead. Well, this is not terrible, but like a cold or a toothache, it's feel bad, not feel good.  Given we're now over six years into the global Millennium Contraction, there's also the inevitable fatigue in having to struggle every month in a declining economic environment, and annoyance that the rich keep getting richer.  One can only keep a stiff upper lip so long, you know. Feeling beleaguered, even traumatized, is natural now.

This sounds like a bummer, and it is, but there is truth in the old saying, misery loves company.  That is, you're not alone in your struggling.  You didn't do anything wrong.  Well, if you didn't vote in last fall's elections, in which only 37% of voters turned out, you did make a mistake.

Looking ahead to the early spring, the January 19 VedicLeaks entry about winter/spring weather used transits, which means global planetary weather, Expect major snowy storms with heavy flooding when the Sun transits Pisces from mid March through mid April -- globally. Again, that could be a reason oil supply tightens then, pushing up gas prices again.

Getting back to the U.S, recall the December 15, 2014 VedicLeaks entry discussed the U.S. Vedic chart's planetary cycles, Starting Christmas Day, the hot Sun replaces loving Venus. Mars/Sun is the combination for fighting, as both are pita (fiery) planets, naturally aggressive. Political tensions were predicted.  All kinds of violences, explosions and fires can occur.

The U.S. chart's Sun/Mars Dasas (planetary cycles) combination can also exacerbate heavy weather in the U.S. beginning in mid March, when they conjoin in watery Pisces, and the eclipse season runs.  There could be a silver lining, though, in building up the western snow packs, alleviating the drought.

Later in the spring, the transiting planets will be much better disposed -- especially for exalted Jupiter beginning forward motion again April 4. He'll be very strong in the middle of Cancer then. Too, the last eclipse, a total lunar on April 4, will begin winding down that energy by mid April. Still, as the January 19 VedicLeaks stated, mid April to mid May can bring violent thunderstorms, tornadoes -- but that's normal weather then.

So, keep your head down this winter, get through the tough mid March to mid April and take advantage of what promises to be a very nice spring season.

The First Big Winter Storm & Other Turbulences

The first big winter storm has come a-knockin, "Winter Storm Juno will transform from a clipper-type system, which brought a few inches of snow to the Midwest Sunday, into a major coastal storm late Monday into Tuesday as it intensifies rapidly just off the Atlantic coast."

This is not unusual, for it wouldn't be winter without major storms, even blizzards, in the U.S. and globally elsewhere in northern latitudes. The January 21 Celestial Wheel entry stated, Mars throws a mean aspect (glance) to Rahu, stimulating outer courage and inner fear -- and some nasty violences. This Mars aspect is nearly exact now. Mars is at 17:50 degrees and Rahu at 18:23. Recalling that Rahu (the head-of-the tail eclipse point) moves backward in the zodiac, Mars and Rahu energies are closing in on each other, amplifying destruction. (A head-on collision is more damaging that a car hitting another vehicle going in the same direction.)

To give some perspective on the virulence of Mars associating with Rahu, the last time was a conjunction this past July, exact July 13, 2014. As events usually precede the exact conjunction date, it's no surprise the 2014 Israel–Gaza conflict began July 8.

The current Mars aspect to Rahu is obviously not as strong as a conjunction, where both planets are in the same sign. And because now Vata (air cold) Rahu is in earthy Virgo, a winter blizzard results. This karma is particularly potent in the U.S. but, again, is global for being a transit.

Tuesday, being Mars' day of the week, indicates the storm will be most intense then. Fortunately, the all-important Moon (water, the home) is not afflicted now, but it will be starting Wednesday. Thereby, the storm will tend to continue through Wednesday with more snow but less wind.

Keep in mind, however, the prediction for prediction first made in the January 19 VedicLeaks, Expect major snowy storms with heavy flooding when the Sun transits Pisces from mid March through mid April, and Mars will be in the mix in Pisces with Ketu beginning mid February, which can kick off oil supply problems that become dire in March/April. Winter Storm Juno will not be the only major storm this winter and probably not even the worst one. And oil won't remain cheap for long.

This entry's title ends with Other Turbulences. The January 21 Celestial Wheel stated about the current Mars/Sun (fighting) planetary cycle in the U.S. chart, All kinds of violences, explosions and fires can occur. A confirming karma is that Mars influencing Rahu can bring anger and toxic conditions in the body. With Rahu in Virgo, the sixth sign of illness, this karma is potent. A final health karma is the Mercury retrograde, which planet rules the respiratory system, can bring the flu.

The news has been full of dire events recently. Here are four on CNN's home page right now - NY police: Shoppers in crowded Home Depot store forced to flee murder-suicide, Greek F16 crashes in Spain during NATO exercise, Two passenger planes were evacuated upon arrival at a Seattle airport, one day after bomb threats targeted two jets bound for Atlanta and Planes attempt to land in dangerous cross-winds at Birmingham International Airport, UK. (Aircraft are prominent because Rahu is airplanes.)

And here's an article on the flu, Flu season hits some big states hard.
